If we cant do the 45 Hour W/end Break in Cab,

Theres 1 very simple solution .

Get the hell out of EU .

Have sensible domestic regs and control of foreigners coming here .

And we would have to play by their rules when going over there .

1.Any transport companies can t get load direct from customers.All load go from big Logistic companies-XPO,GEODIS,DSV and much moch more.This big companies never will paid big money for load transportation .Because they think just to earn more for self and after invest money in something new.When you buy truck and go to find load ,contract,that nobody give you better price because you want pay more money for drivers.Most companies in EU now work at 1 euro per kilometr.
2.wages.There as well good companie and bad.Some Eastern Europian companies pay 60-70 per calendar day.Every month can earn up to 2000(after smoe deduction :smiley: )
3truck condition.Most truck in good condition and trailer in much better condition than some British trailers with 1 strap or with out strap.Must lloking not how nice looking truck or how new but how god.
4.Missed road.Near every drivers time from time lost road.It is normaly Difference just one-how professionaly he found good way to back to normal road or he is stupid and go thorough and damage something ot stuck…
5. Uk can go out of EU or not but out no sort out this problem.Because all logistic companies belong to foreigh companies .But you local companies as well sale load to another companies form small money.You CUlina,FW,NFT Freshlinc as well give some job to subbies.What you think who they pay best price for this job??
6.But next 10 years or more will be more and more subbies.Because to many not big companies will no extend present contract,Because some much biggest company offerto customers do this job more cheap or fast.But present company will work and do same job just than sub contractor and get much less money.

This thread has given me an idea for a theme for me new years party.
I shall invite all me friends round on the understanding that everyone must speak French for the whole evening. My friends who can speak French wont be invited.

Although those other industries aren’t paying anymore either, as the fat cats at the top need cheap labour to keep the wheels turning and the millions rolling into their banks accounts…

It won’t change, as those fat cats are the people that influence/make policy.

To be honest, I never thought the intention of the people writing the legislation was to prohibit 45 hour breaks being taken in the cab, I just think it was clumsily written, and not double-checked before it came into effect.

Like a lot of the others; for example that farcical WTD thing whereby you could easily end up sitting for fifteen minutes in a layby, a hundred yards from your base with an hour’s driving time left. All that it achieves is that you get home to a much more relaxing and beneficial rest twenty minutes later than you would have done if you’d ignored it, which hardly achieves the safety objective.

The more they abuse this cheap labour it will come to a head sooner , a lot of eastern euro drivers are beginning to get out , a few years under there belt and maybe money saved up for house and nice car and they stay home work local , they are a good set of lads who help you out when they can and expect nothing in return , and can be a lot more socialble than many international uk drivers , who sit on ferries and slag them off with this stupid taliban name , which shows how uneducated they are , where did that come from the flip flops ? Why .
Anyway the Portuguese ahead of the game now they got South American drivers on the job , and they can drive night and day up and down mountains no problem with a cup of tea made from a famous leaf to keep em going !,

There we have it lads ,wonder why young ones do not want to drive a truck,talk about a race to the bottom

The young lads are joining the industry with passion but then realise that it ain’t worth Sh*t and quickly depart after being abused by employer , fined by the vermin that are DVSA and not being able to find a decent place to stop if tramping , only the ones that have a true passion for it stay , I have always had a passion for trucks and driving 30 years of it and still enjoy it but unfortunately it just is a real torture at the moment , I think there some small uk ops that are still good , more likely second , third generation at helm and maybe French transport companies of medium size and a few German ones are still worth working for , they do actually respect a driver , and the Germans are actually realising that the flagging out they started with the Austrians has done us all no favours except logistics tosses , now they want to control it and start looking after there transport market , fat chance of that in uk with our politicians and tc just crucifying us all with no regard to future . Oh and sorry if it is all doom and gloom I could post that is just wonderful and all young people should jump aboard but that’s not fact and I don’t work for an advertising agency contracted to a logistics Plc .
