myself im not bothered about their speed ,if it means their job then so be it obey company rules after the law of the land.
I am getting well fed up tho when i let a trolley dolly on from a slip road etc and just when you are nearly past them in lane 2 they speed up and leave you standing you do them a favour and get no thanks in return. in future asda/tesco/stobbies/sainsbury etc etc can go whistle cos i for one am not gonna do that anymore. i am fed up with being made to look a pratt sitting in middle lane on my own. sorry to the guys who do say thanks but your all tarred with the same brush now.
Had this the other week on the M25, let a car transporter on from the A1 but instead of letting me back in he sped up the inside and sat an inch off the bulk tipper in front that was slightly faster than me, sat like that for about five miles til the tipper got just enough ahead for him to squeeze out in front of me, surely it wouldve been quicker to let me back in and overtake

Whilst were are on this subject -
How many truckers leave that ‘leap-frog’ gap when there is no chance of an overtake
I do, if it’s obvious that a car will be able to pass where I can’t. Sometimes it can be a hindrance though, as cars have to make 2 overtaking maneouvres. I’ve also pulled into lay bys where the [zb] it someones gonna get killed scenario occurs.
Dont tell em about the Galloway Hill road…at least leave us with one escape route
No matter what way they go it will either be Scottish Cruiser down the A77 or one of the timber terrorist along the A714 trying to push the trolley along the road
I agree with the frustration thing, but being realistic, espec during the day you get by the Sainsburys motor then it will be the Morrisons motor, then past it will be the caravan, then it will be the Micra.
When i was leaving Cairnryan at about 6.30am on a good day could get to Dumfries without any delays, but after that lucky to be doing 35-40mph all the way to the border. On a bad day it would be a crawl from Cairnryan all the way. Get past one thing then its something else.
Same with the 77, during the day if you think you can barrel up and down it problem free during the day your living in fantasy land.
Can either just accept it sometimes you get held up or can get stressed out and give yourself an early heart attack, or do somthing dumb like tailgate the motor, if that motor slams on the brakes in an emergency or out of mallice cabs arent that strong you seen the pics be shoveling you into a bodybag.
Either that or talk about teaching people a lesson putting them into a field, yeah heard it all before and seen a few attempt it, you might get on the boat a bit quicker but loosing your licence prob the least of your worries. D&G polis have charged someone with dangerous driving before for overtaking two trucks on a straight section of road nevermind taking the nose off someone, be lucky to stay outta jail.
I always wonder who or what drivers that have the curtains set like this are hiding from and why they feel the need to hide?

i just wonder how they see out m8!!!
markgilly:
I thought plans were afoot to dual that road from Gretna
Nah no plans for that, they are making improvements along the A77 and the A75 adding more stretchs of overtaking lanes, but thats really it no plans to dual the road.
It could do with being dualed from Gretna to west of Dumfries, think traffic volumes warrent it and it can be a really slow grind.
It should be common sense that if you wish to travel at a stupid speed, one that is seriously not safe to do, then pull over and let everyone by, as everyone knows FRUSTRATION CAUSES ACCIDENTS.

aye thats all ture

Disagree old fruit, Fannies that are far too important for everyones good cause accidents
ANDY1961:
Totally agree Olog! I’ve yet to come across a Manfreight driver (whether he’s irish or not!) that doesn’t tailgate 2ft up the arse of all other road users!
You should spend less time polishing your shiny red trucks and learn how to drive them.
Not many polish the trucks, but those that do is those that pride themselves in there units and dont want to live in what seem like tatty metal tins. We dont treat (try not to nyways) the lorries as just a work horse, although thats what it is, as we live in these 3 nights a week etc…
As for tailgating, cant say I do it much, cant comment for others, but if someone is being a [zb], as this Sainsburys driver is then I will be right at his arse so he knows I want by and by god he better let me by. Trust me im tame to other drivers I have seen lately.

This bloke spends his life moaning about people sticking to the speed limit and threatening law abiding drivers on here. A real hero1
scottishcruiser:
This [zb] Sainsburys driver I will ring his [zb] neck so hard he’ll never want to drive again and that goes for any other [zb] 35mph driver out on the open roads. As if 40mph wasn’t bad enough on todays A roads (A77 this was) we have a desperate Dan here trying to top up his [zb] hourly wage with holding up the traffic in excess of 15 lorry lengths just so he can earn an extra £3 a day. This [zb] should be getting done for reckless driving for driving too slow. No way on earth this is safe practice nor is it good for the lorry. I wasn’t even in top gear so for him to travel in excess of 250miles+ round trip at that speed surely cant be good.
55kmh - 34mph.
He might of been keeping his eye out for a Silver Peugot, liable to stop at any minute they are !!
buck73:
this happened to me coming down the a1 from berwick to newcastle last night.some tth truck sat doing 37mph on the cruise control, the entire length of the single track,as soon as he hit the dual he was away…however,i crawled past him at alnwick, gave him the obligatary horn, hand gesture and 50mph sign, pulled in front of him and slowed him down on the dual.
wonderful, here’s another billy big trucker who likes to lecture us all, then shows what a true professional he really is. you overtook him, got on the horn, cut in front and then got on the brakes?! Are you for real or what?!
people like you have no place on the road full stop, let alone pulling 40 tonnes around. you are quite evidently a danger to others, not only given that you would actually do something like that but because you think its perfectly acceptable!

Olog Hai:
i just love it. an irish motor pulling a norfolk line fridge and its driver is lecturing on reckless and inconsiderate driving.
some guys out there reeeeeealy need to calm down and chill out a bit.
you obviously dont use the a1,a9,a7,a77,a76,a75,a69,on a daily basis do you?,otherwise you wouldnt make a comment like that.nuff said!.
very rarely. in the extremely unlikely event of me doing so AND being stuck behind a supermarket wagon at 37 then i’d pull over, have a 15, let the queue clear, and be on my way again.
i read some stuff on here and it really is not difficult to work out why the public opinion of truckers is thick-as-■■■■, ignorant ■■■■■■ quite obviously, that is exactly what plenty are.
I really hope that was a joke. Otherwise, you’d better hope we don’t meet. There is nothing worse than ■■■■■■■■ who say that, while taking 10 minutes to get to 26 mph then slowing down for a corner. In case you hadn’t noticed, we “drive” for a living. If you want to park up, go ahead. Don’t ■■■■ me about.
