Sprat to catch a mackerel is spot on.
Around 1990 i got made redundant from my night trunking job, damned well paid too and thought i was up the swanney without a paddle.
I was offered a start on car transporters and was trained double manned for about a week, no pay, a right cowboy outfit it was too in those days (theres at least one lad here from that firm so this will jog memories), we ended up doing 15 to 18 hour days every day sharing the driving.
I approached the gaffer at the end of the week and explained how much more the vehicle had earned because we were double manned and he agreed to pay me IIRC about £200 for the week…i was the first driver that had ever been paid for training there, it set a precedent though as with many negotiated results there the drivers reps and the shop stewards claimed the credit, not as i was bothered by that it was normal practice on that sort of outfit.
Then had to work for about 3 months on trade plate deliveries till a truck came available, it wasn’t easy to get on car transporters then.
Anyway it led to 20 years of transporter work and the last 8 years i ended up on one of the best companies to work for…well till three years ago, now the game is about knackered and i got out.
Hard graft, filthy and dangerous, if you can’t stand the odd clout or trapped fingers or slip and fall then don’t even think about it, but put in the effort and you could earn some serious dosh once you work yourself up to the right company, we didn’t pee it up the wall so life is good now, i’ve packed the cars in and got a soft easy job now, one or two drops and home after every shift.
Sometimes you have to invest a bit in the future, moaning and griping and acting like spoiled brats won’t get you into lucrative jobs, you have to get out there and do what you have to do to get them.
The best jobs don’t always go hand ion hand with glory boys trucks either, in fact the reverse is usually the case.

I don’t mind getting into a row of words with you Truckulent. This is a forum, silly. Look at my face. While you’re huddled over your monitor composing your long, tedious replies to my one-liners, Mrs Truckulent is in the other room having unspeakable things done to her by a handsome young man with a shorter attention span than you. But guess what Truckulent, he’s got a longer ■■■■ than you so she doesn’t care.
Shouldn’t you go and ask the gentleman to leave then?

Yea but I bet he ain’t got any girth lmao.
Longer, thicker, harder, better technique, more stamina and a personality.
Poor old Snobulent doesn’t stand a chance. If it wasn’t for how successful he is she’d have [zb]ed off years ago.

if you had been unemployed for a considerable amount of time and someone offered you a job if you could show you were capable after a short unpaid trial period(bearing in mind you have no previous experience)then you would take it or you`d be a foolI have never been in that position but if someone asked me to work for free to “prove” myself I would decline their "kind " offer and continue my search for a employer who wasnt a ■■■■ taking [zb].
You forget its that Cameron and his big society, work for free after all Mummy and Daddy will pick up the tab, oh ! we dont all live like that. certainly not in my world.
And I’ve got to say, that any firm that asks you to work for a free trial period is going to keep coming up with good reason’s to “just pop in on saturday morning” for free, and other such wheezez. Steer well clear. And watch that working for a free trial period, doesnt leave you Unavailable for work when signing on, coz that lot will see it as work regardless of remuniration or lack off.
Oh yea and whats wrong with doing a shift or 2 for free to get experience when nobody will give you a chance, especially when the driver who been kind enough to put up with you for a week gets that money?
Or have you turned in such a dodering old [zb]er you can’t you remember that far back.

I used to teach in schools a few years ago. The oldest in the school were 13. When someone disagreed with them you got the ‘my dad is tougher than your dad’ / ‘you’re gay’/ ‘your girlfriend is a slag’ routine. Happy days eh? Didn’t expect to find the same pathetic immaturity on here though - but you live and learn eh? Mr Crabs has a little paddy and you all go Baaaaaaaaaaaa
My comments are based on wanting drivers to get better money and conditions…If you don’t like that then tough…carry on grinding a living out - doesn’t affect me chaps cos I’m doing OK ta.
I can really now understand why a lot of you on are happy with your lot. Must be nice working your ■■■■■■■■ off for ■■■■ all, but as a lot of you are far too stupid to see it, at least you’re in ignorance of the fact. Enjoy yourselves my darlings.
( Ok Mr Crabs lets have another tirade of obscentities. Let’s hear more about your transcendental ■■■■■■ fantasies…)
Touched a nerve, Snobulent?
This is a working man’s forum for working men, there’s nothing for you here. Try the PonceNetUK forums, I think you’ll fit in better.
If Mrs Truckulent ever wants to experience a real man, PM me and I’ll see her right. You won’t want her back afterwards though.
Goodbye Truckulent, thanks for coming. Love you.

Giving up I think, im glad our soldiers in every war we have won didn’t have that attitude…
Keep trying OP, you never know when lady luck is going to be watching over you

What was this thread about?
It was about Truckulent’s inability to satisfy his wife because he lacks the appearance, personality and genitalia that all ladies desire.
Actually, I think it was about something else but Truckulent needed a public ■■■■■-slapping so I ■■■■■-slapped him, in front of everyone.

Thats not the way i read it ,looked to me like he was putting a very good case across and you just resorted to daft personal attacks on the man.
