I merely pointed out the possible consequences of working for free (not a certainty of course) and the fact that you could easily be taken advantage of. I then suggested that better pay and conditions for drivers would be nice…not sure how that is snobby/showing a lack of ■■■■■■ prowess etc. but there you go.
The fact that Mr Crabs seems to want to tell us all about his very frustrating ■■■ life seems to me to be of little help to the OP.

You presume wrong Trucky. I do a bit of driving yes, but most of my income comes from my other job as a male ■■■■■■.
When a woman has a rich but boring husband (and I’m looking at you Truckulent) she sometimes wants to spend time with someone with a bit of charisma and a personality. I take them out for meal, maybe go to a club afterwards and more often than not they want ■■■. It pays very well and I enjoy it so it’s a win win situation for me.
The thing I like best about it is the fact her husband is actually paying for me to ■■■■ the ■■■■ out of his wife. It doesn’t get much better than that.
If I were you, I’d do what the thread title suggests and give up. I can go all day and all night, ask your wife.
Seriously though, lighten up a bit. Do something spontaneous and romantic for her, you never know it might just save your marriage.

This is precisely why we’ve never got the pay and conditions we should have, have more regulations than you can shake a sodding stick at and it will always be thus, bloody truck jockeys arguing over trivial stuff…ooh he’s got a better lorry than me and shiny wheels…instead of sticking together united behind one proper drivers only union, similar to Teamsters, which we should have done 40 years ago and gone for proper pay.

I ain’t arguing matey. I made a valid point and someone chose to hurl rather childish abuse at me because he didn’t agree and couldn’t manage a coherent response without resulting to teenage slanging.

Nothing wrong with taking a crappy job to get a bit of experience, it’s called earning your stripes, far too many namby pamby tossers out there who expect to jump into a good paying job with a top of the range lorry the minute they get a licence
There’s another thread on here about what makes a good driver and number one in my book is attitude, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that driving a lorry will involve long hours and a poor rate of pay for the hours you do, so why get into the industry in the first place if all you’re going to do is ■■■■ and moan about it? Nobody is forced to drive lorries FFS
This thread should of ended ages ago as I got a job in the end as stated on this and another post, it is quite funny though how its turned into constant abuse between a trucker and a male ■■■■■■ Trucker
