ffs maoster what’s the matter with you lately, blatant advertising on another site and now your sending kisses to a schoolboy i’m gettimg concerned mate…
I’m currently identifying as non binary (whatever TF that is) so this is the new me. Buckle up cowboy, we’re in for a helluva ride!
I would check up first mate that it does not involve getting your meat and two veg removed.
I do know it involves you wearing make up and gender neutral clothes, so our days of going out for a pint may be numbered…no offence like.
I’ve got my ultra macho reputation to think of.

believe i went straight to the STAB THE BUGGER scenario because im forever hearing about knives. not a day goes by without knives mentioned somewhere . i dont actually own a knife in a ■■■■■■ so its not like iv been preparing , IF i had gone down the stab route for real it would have been a cheap steak knife . Nontheless its worrying that it was my thought . That reminds me , back when i was a boy scout i Did borrow a bowie knife with intention to scare a fellow scout who had been bullying me but on the night he didnt turn up.And i did once shoot someone from a distance with an airrifle but thats hardly the mark of an assassin . So i guess i do have a weakness to let loose there, but its not like iv a collection of weapons ,i known blokes who do keep them thats not me
Anyhoo its been intresting to read the replies ,thanks guys
I was the first on this thread to pick you up on this.
You’ve tried to play it down but then go on to say ‘‘If I had’’ then go on to elaborate what type of knife you would use. , then confirm you have a history (however slight) with knives.
I would maybe also go down the route of wanting to hurt somebody who had done whatever to my wife, but I would say 100% I would not feel the need to carry any weapon.
Nearest I come to that is to have a baseball bat hanging up in my cab, working on the theory you (well me) can’t fight numbers, if some scrote low lifes have a go at me through the night.
Not trying to be some kind of poor man’s psychologist here mate, but if it was me I would be discussing this state of mind with someone who knows, just in case a scenario turns into a reality in the future…no offence intended btw, just an observation.
who would you talk to if it was you? book in at the docs and see his face as i tell him im feeling a bit stab happy? i dont feel an urge to stab else id at least be throwing a knife at trees to practice
over the years iv known blokes who made those chinese throwing stars in spare time in the workshop and my own neybour drives hgv he has/had a pistol which he tried to flog onto me. im not intrested . another guy i knew as a kid he was in the army had his own Luger that he used to shoot at goods trains as they rattled thru our village. im a lightweight by comparison
The solution to the knife problem can be simple - If very unpolitically correct.
Kids (And apparently some adults) run around with knives, as they think it gives them power over others.
If society was armed, it would be rather unwise for someone to try and threaten a concealed firearms holder with a knife when they have the means to defend themselves very efficiently - It would even deal with the gang/mob idea of 10 on 1 kind of thing.
There’s that old saying: “God made men, but Sam Colt made them equal.”
Guns don’t kill people, people kill people - They’ll use knives, screwdrivers, guns, acid, whatever they can get their hands on - Arming law abiding citizens, simply levels the playing field.
Just one recent example of a recent shooting with a gun in London. Gun laws didn’t stop them. Law against murder didn’t stop them - At least give the victims a chance uk.news.yahoo.com/walthamstow-s … 58589.html
While they argue it out in the house of commons, legalise pepper spray as a first measure while firearms laws are reviewed.

The American ethos is the only way to stop a bad person with a knife is a good person with a gun.The only way to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a bigger gun.Gun laws just mean that only the lawless bad persons will be armed with a knife or a gun.

Totally agree, but with a death penalty caveat for those…overly offensive situations

The USA with firearms more readily available has over 4 times the homicide rate of the UK.
Does that suggest anything, to anyone?

Depends on what counts as ‘homicide’ Like is it a homicide if you see someone trying to steal a car and his buddy comes at you with a golf stick and you shoot him? :
They also have a big(ger) problem with drugs and most shootings are drug related, criminals killing criminals over territory etc. which I honestly don’t have a problem with. They could cut the rate in half or more overnight if they legalized drugs except the person or people who propose and accept the legislation - they’d get murdered instantly

So what?
Of course it suggests something.
It suggests that is so,… because you are comparing a country approximately 40 times bigger than ours, (that is 39 more UKs in the US if you like) and about 250 million more people live there.
So 4 times more maybe ain’t a lot in those terms.

UK…803 intentional homicides…1.2 homicides per 100,000 people per year.
USA …17,284 intentional homicides…5.3 homicides per 100,000 head per year. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_c … icide_rate
I think anyone caught with a knife should be stabbed. Video it and put it on prime time TV. Show the kids before their lessons start.
If you murder someone I think any of their family members should come up with a way in which they should die. Put it on TV and let the public vote for their favourite method.
Now tell me that’s not better entertainment than Strictly’s Got The Jungle Factor.
More or less what I was going to say. In the USA there is less knife crime because they shoot each other instead, so if guns were legal here (Pop into Tesco to pick up a nice little automatic in the sales) the yoofs would be less likely to stab anyone.

Get it?
Yeh I get it, fair do.s.
On the other hand any stats on any subject can be massaged and adjusted to fit an agenda.
I wonder how many criminals the US have per 100k, compared to UK…but I take your point.

If somebody pulls a knife on you, at least you have a chance of defending yourself (or doing a runner )
Where as if a little scrote high on drugs pulls a shooter on you, you’ve no chance.

Good question.
(Like all good questions it seems there should be a nice easy answer, to a nice easy query. Obviously there aint. To measure a problem you really need to *understand* it in depth. If do understand it, so that its easier to examine and measure it, then you can tackle it and deal with it. Answer the question and you`re half way to curing it.)
