The iceland driver in this video is,quite rightly, getting called al sorts of names and there are calls for his license removal.
Meanwhile on another thread I got pelters for saying I would report someone I saw using a laptop whilst driving

Police scotland are on the case . Hope he gets caught ,jailed and banned from driving for a long time.I recently purchased a new dashcam and have already sent 3 recordings to the police and 2 of them were HGVs acting like morons. I will continue to send the police my footage of dangerous driving ect ect
Bet you would have been cracking one off at the side of the road silly if you had caught this footage eh?
Is trying to catch folks bad driving on dashcams the new ‘‘train spotting’’?
Honest to god just join the police if you want to catch wrong uns
Exactly what i was thinking, dash cams are for getting the crash for cash types done, not people misjudging or screwing up. Especially HGV’s when you shouldn’t need to be told alot of them are probably driving/navigating somewhere they have never been before - “My dash cam recorded someone using the wrong lane at a junction and promptly mucked up correcting causing someone else to beep their horn, I shall clip that and send the video when i get home”.

I agree but you have to admit this was a piece of knobheadish driving?
Oh yeah the original video is pretty shocking, bit of an anger issue maybe, was very reckless.

For your information i dont go looking for bad driving. If i come across it and its recorded i report it to the company if i can identify who the vehicle belongs to.
If the company dont respond to me then thats when i send it to the relevent road policing unit. We are meant to be proffesional drivers and should behave as such no excuses. We can all make mistakes including me i dont report every mistemeaner.
With so many drivers now having a dashcam then it certainly makes me think before i act. You never know who will be watching.
As for cracking one off at the side of the road i will leave you to get on with that if thats your sort of thing. Knock youself out mate !!!
As proffesional drivers we have a duty to protect ourselves and those around us.

Do you have any example footage for us or do you realise that the professional drivers on this forum heavily scrutinise the camera drivers ability as a few squealer wannabees have come unstuck on this forum.

Why would it make any difference, oh i get it your worried about meeting another squealer…
Bet you don’t even have a dashcam…

I bought mine a few months back and I’ve already got some corkers on it. Worst one is a car reversing down the outside lane of a motorway to U-turn across the road to escape a traffic jam ahead. Can’t see the number plate though.
Got some very aggressive driving in roadworks from a Royal Mail hero. Not bothering me but flashing and tailing cars.
And the usual paddies in the outside lane

Great. You could always post it on youtube then link it here so we can take a look.
I’m getting one myself but have to make sure my own driving is whiter than white (which is going to be tricky) before letting this rough crowd here take a look at my exploits.

You must be a bit on the thick side mate. You commented when i started a thread when i first bought a dashcam, you were gagging for me to post footage. I dont think its appropriate for me to post footage on a public forum when it could be subject to criminal proceedings.
The main reason for me having one is for insurance purposes. Filming unprofessional hgv psv drivers is secondary.
Even when the evidence clear some on here try to defend drivers. Making lame excuses for whats just poor driving skills

Wow you started a thread, so you must own one then.
Sorry but no video, no proof.
Your whole point is based on your premise that your show footage to companies and even the police, but we both know you don’t even own a dashcam.
However as i’m a fair chap and not a stranger to making a fool of myself feel free to post any dashcam footage that you have taken, heck it can even be just a boring road shot.
Perhaps you could also explain how you feel qualified to judge the actions of other motorists as you must be the perfect driver.
Obviously we agree the driver of this thread is a total numpty and even the average driver could see what he was doing wrong. However I do feel that society is going down a road of squealing on itself using video footage in order to satisfy some base instinct for improved self worth by showing flaws in others.
I don’t want this to come across as I’m picking on you as forum rules forbid it but I just fear that when everyone has a dashcam the tempatation to justify their purchase coupled with the gratification of being able to show someone up who we feel has harmed us (usually by invading our personal space) leads us to a society of tattle tales who see the vehicle but not the human being. Not to mention actively going out looking for trouble.
So lets say these 3 instances you mentioned actually happened, if the drivers had stopped and apologised in person face to face I bet you would have been less likely to send their videos to the police (if this even happened).
So what I’m saying is with no chance to sooth your feelings your only option to satisfy your thirst for revenge is to squeal on them to the authorities and thus in some way satisfying your need to be in the right. But in reality a simple apology would have diffused the situation and just maybe you would have made a friend.
This high ground desire is natural as we all need to feel dominance against those that have wronged us and only see good or bad rather than shades of grey, so any one that heaven forbid annoys us has to be bad rather than another human being who has just made a mistake, like we all do on a daily basis.
Perhaps this highlights how sterile and discombulated (possible made up word ) the process of driving actually is, and just maybe in order to fight big brother (trust me your playing into their hands) we need to interact more instead of a disfunctional society that is evolving to communicate primarily through a virtual medium and as every year progresses technology develops so we have less and less interaction with each other leading to our eventual extinction. (bit of a stretch this but I’m embelishing a bit)
Anyway I’m waffling now and I doubt your squealing to the rozzers will bugger us all up, in fact you may just be treated as a tedious moaner, who knows, but you are an unfortunate link in a predictable chain IMHO.
Feel free to post your dashcam footage anytime you like though.
Oh and finally don’t try and kid us with your main reason for dashcam ownership is for insurance purposes, if that was the case you wouldn’t be crowing about allegedly sending footage of 3 drivers to the police.
Dipper dave i respect you opinion. We both have different views on this subject. I dont feel picked on at all never have been and never will.
As i said before i dont take the decision to contact the police or a traffic office lightly. Im not judging anyone i will let the police or aTM judge im only supplying evidence.
Again no one is perfect we all make judgement errors but if someone is being downright dangerous then i will report them.
It could be a member of any of our family in the car they wipe out. Thats enough justification for my actions
Believe it or not i havnt a clue how to post a link on here but i did manage to upload one to youtube its on the thread i started and some kind member linked it on here

We all, including (and especially) me get ■■■■■■ with some of the excuses for truck drivers that are let loose on their own in charge of 44 tonnes today, as the proper drivers have to share the road with these tossers.
I suspect by your avatar you have done a bit, and like me witnessed a steady decline of quality of a lot of truck drivers over the years.
Your filming and shopping bad drivers is a bit like ■■■■■■■ in the wind in terms of sorting it, apart from that you undoubtedly will be making yourself unpopular from both drivers… and the Police …but after saying that I don’t really know what the answer to the problem is.
Due to the fact that with today’s trucks you no longer need to acquire skills (apart from maybe reversing a trailer, although some can’t even do that) anymore to go from a car to a truck, maybe it needs a better driver selection process, followed by better education at Driving school level, including an intense theory session concentrating on the differences and pitfalls between driving a car and a truck ( a concept that a lot do not grasp), and maybe a probationary license period, and more re.tests for habitual ■■■■ poor drivers.
Bad driving isn’t so much a demonstration of “poor driving skills” - Everyone who drives badly can probably drive perfectly well - but just cannot be arsed to.
Didn’t we all used to call that sort of thing “Bad Habits” in years gone by?
I’ll leave my hand on a gear stick, dangle my arm out the window on occasion, and fail to signal when going straight across a roundabout. When I’m surrounded by other traffic though - I’ll drive as if I’m having a test!

Morning,
Wow just reading my above post as I was well off my ■■■■ when i wrote it and its like reading someone elses.
Anyway not sure why I thought you didn’t have a dashcam (thanks for the piccy though) apart from I reckon dipper_dave was trying to egg you on for some juicy footage.
I can see his point though as its a slippery slope these dashcams thingys if used to to either go looking for bad driving or report others for minor moments of madness and risk the repurcussios not to mention costing somone their job.
That said the video for this thread of the Iceland truck is an extreme and I wonder how often dangerous moments like this just go unnoticed and only with dashcams do they ever come to light.
Bit deep this but think I cans see where I was going with it. Seeing mankind heading to a disjointed society where communication is done mainly through sterile non personal mediums leads us to dehumanising ourselves and instead of physical interation we end up just communicating through computers. This removes the ability to emphasise with our fellow man and instead of being able to say “mate your driving like a ■■■■ whats the problem” and sort it out at the roadside we send the footage to the police in the hope of the authorities taking revenge for us.
Driving itself is stressfull with misstakes made on a daily basis, having to constantly worry about every minor misshap and biased footage being sent to ones boss just makes our job even harder. Course acts of deliberate stupidity need reporting.
Oh and finally don’t try and kid us with your main reason for dashcam ownership is for insurance purposes, if that was the case you wouldn’t be crowing about allegedly sending footage of 3 drivers to the police.
What a knob, course the main reason for dashcam ownership is insurance purposes, its cyclists that use them for sport and we don’t wont to end up like them with multiple dashcams to view every angle.
Anyway apologies for my drunken self I now have to see how many folks he has upset on facebook.

That’s right, and all the things you say, and more I have done myself, we all do it, that just comes with use and routine, and the longer you do the job the more bad habits you get into.
That is a different situation to the example in the o/p, and stuff like tailgating, cutting in when overtaking, not using mirrors, and general dangerous practices as a ‘normal’ way of driving. As I said before you can guarantee that will not be the first time that guy in the o/p has done that.

Criminal proceedings? Calm yourself down. Its bad driving. Not exactly gonna make the crown court.
How about telling us what these instances are? General details.

How do you decide what is worthy of reporting? Even me,the biggest moaner about idiots on the road with no clue, draws the line somewhere. And it doesn’t include grassing up everybody who makes a bad judgement call. We all do it. If I accidently move lanes when a car is in my blind spot causing them to swerve am I going to end up on your “police camera action” edit file?
If your talking about REALLY bad incidents like hitting property and driving off or screaming through red lights or swerving round pedestrians on crossings then fair play, crack on. Id do the same. But until you let us know said instances your always be seen as a moaning squealer.
