fairs fair,he bolloxed it up bigtime in a biblical proportion.if hes well known for similar cases, then hes a nugget that needs to take a reality pill, especially if hes not doing it because hes late for something.i don’t know how he couldn’t have seen the other cars coming before the x5 overtake, though at the same time, mabey he thought he was past the point of no return until the x5 wokeup and braked alongside him, either way it was a total ballsup, but everyones allowed to make mistakes, not so if hes well known for it though, that just makes him a fanny.ive worked with guys who have near miss after near miss and you just know there about to wreck it bigtime, they never last long in the same job.i did 4 years on and off for Tosco and had to just adapt to sitting at the speed limit, running legal, and all the dung that went with it,tipping on card ect,and taking breaks when your meant to,his style of drifing would be better received in Russia,or in eire on a hooked up 143…will that do for now??..

Yeh, OK, it’s a start , a classic bit of back pedaling but fair play to you for taking a reality check and coming back.
You had to spoil it though by the reference to bent running (for a change) so I can’t speak for everybody but it’s 7 out of 10 from me for effort, but hey, were getting there

You don’t have to go that far.If you go to Poland,Hungary,or Romania you can experience even worst driving.
You guys far away from what is going on his mind.Becouse he grow up in a different environment, you will never have the same view on driving a truck. It’s like different thinking between people who’s have a very different childhood. In some cultures a woman have to cover her face when she is on a public place, and here if you out during summer, you will have a much clearer look on chicks legs, ■■■■, etc…
You won’t understand this driver, and no reason to understand this reckless behaviour. It wasn’t a “mistake” like someone mentioned earlier. It was a [zb] deliberate maneuver,do not try to patronize this [zb]. He didn’t give a [zb] to the oncoming traffic. His explanation, just an excuse.
To see, what I’m talking about, just have a look on this video:

So you’re saying he thought this style of driving is normal and to be accepted ?

He knows that the driving he was doing is not right, but he don’t care. It’s like you won’t steal alcohol from a store, but some people do it often, untill they get caught. They take a risk for something. They well aware about the risks. This driver take the risk to shortern his shift.Simple as.
Whilst here in the UK, most of the people have a decent way of thinking, but people from Eastern Europe they don’t have it behind the steering wheel.
Here is some experience from a polish guy, who lives here in the UK(I like to mention, I’m not polish, but I’m from Eastern Europe too):
Almost no road police, no portable speed cameras that can be set up in any random place… and people generally drive nice, calm, and within the road code. Love it. Poland to the contrary: speed cameras EVERYWHERE, on top of that police catching people with portables in any random place (you meet them almost every day if you drive just a bit), and people driving like CRAZY: overspeeding by 50-100km/h, taking over on the corners, on double lines, doing three-lane slaloms around slower drivers, etc. Can’t understand how the driving works so well here with almost no enforcement. After 3.5 years I’m now scared to drive in Poland.

People are better educated here. I believe the driver in the video was eastern European, which backs up what you’re saying. If it was up to me, I’d ban all non GB lorries/drivers from our roads (Yes that includes the whole of Ireland) as alot of them drive like lunatics, with little regard for the laws of this country.

Mate Seriously??
You have listened to too much bull crap in RDC.s, truckstops, some stars on here, cafes (I very much doubt if I can include ferries, as I am betting you have never been south of Dover or out of a 100 mile radius from home, …agency maybe?)
So congratulations for coming out with the most exaggerated, stereotypical, false, inane, pile of pure bull ■■■■ that I have ever heard on T.net.
I will tell my Dutch wife that she is not as well educated as me, she will love that one, I will tell mates who drive in Holland and Belgium that they should be banned from here as they drive like lunatics and not as good as some of the dumb assed f/Whits in the UK that miraculously manage to get a Class 1 license shall I?
Come back on here mate when you know the ■■■■ what you are talking about.

Perhaps it was a bit harsh of me to include some of the Western European countries in my blanket ban. I was being a bit of a troll when I wrote it. I was trying to cheekily goad some of the Irish desperado truckers.
I have based my opinions on what I’ve seen and not what I’ve heard. I haven’t been south of Dover as I live in Scotland and have been lucky enough to get a decent well paid job that allows me to sleep in my own bed every night. I also have never worked for an agency and never will as a matter of principle. I’ve been on a few ferries through work, but they were all Calmac .
Do you not agree that a large portion of the Irish, Eastern and Southern Europeans drive here with little regard for the law, thinking themselves above it? Speeding and parking fines are areas where they seem to be getting away with murder, metaphorically speaking.

Yeh perhaps it was mate eh?
Seems I was right apart from the agency bit.
I just get a bit ■■■■■■ about those on here that slag off Foreign drivers as some kind of sport, I have said on here before how I used to get this crap all the time while on Foreign regd trucks, I am Brit born and bred but these retards did not realize it at the time but were soon told.
There is a misconception that Brit drivers are superior to foreigners, don’t make me ■■■■■■ laugh, I know which driver I would choose to take a lift home with looking at some of our drivers on the road today,
As for the Paddy’s, their reputation has gone before them for as long as I can remember, some is true, some is exaggeration most is Bull crap, you always get the rogues in any walk of life that tend to spoil it for the majority.
As for the speeding I don’t think the foreigners are any worse than our lot, just read some of the comments by the crack on superstars on here.
As for not paying parking good luck to them, why should you have to pay an over inflated charge for little or no facilities, I never paid on foreign motors and thought nothing of it.
There will no doubt be a lot on here that agree with you mate, but I ain’t one of them.
So are you implying that where you’ve driven is a reflection of how good a professional driver you are? I’ve seen plenty of guys who’ve done continental work who haven’t a clue. They have numerous bumps, continually get infringements, struggle to put trailers on bays and also can’t keep their licenses clean. All absolutely basic stuff that they just can’t get right.
There is a resentment towards foreign truckers over here though, but it’s a healthy one. There’s not that many of them up here, but from what I’ve seen the standard is pretty poor. Most people want what’s best for the British Haulage industry on here surely? Having less foreign trucks here surely helps our industry?
What I find bamboozling about this thread is the baying calls to have this driver hung, drawn and quartered. I have had many an argument on here when I have had a go at poor driving on the roads. One poster even told me that “thats life” if someone elses bad driving killed someone. On another occasion the phrase “He might have had a good reason” was used. On another, someone was arguing with me that 60mph in a 30 zone was acceptable sometimes
I have always moaned about poor driving and demanding that anyone who cant behave behind the wheel should be taken off the road. Permanently. But lots of posters on here seem to think it should be ignored as it’s “not anyone else’s business”. Except the poor sod who gets wiped out of course.
Im all for getting this guy off the road. From what I gather he has a record for this sort of thing and it probably wasn’t an isolated incident. And I can see where the anger is coming from, and I feel the same
It just amazes me the way different threads about similar things on here get such different opinions

Do what? How the hell did you deduce that gem from what I said, I ain’t ‘implying’ anything mate read what I said.
If you want to go down that route are you implying that my driving abilities are as bad as the ones that you… claim, to know, because you certainly do not know me.
The resentment (healthy?..really?) you speak of is mostly based on ignorance and lack of first hand experience, how many foreign drivers do you KNOW exactly, is it as many as your UK Continental mates that are totally inept at their jobs, I’m wondering who they drive for exactly…so I can avoid em, or are you making all this up as you go along.
Stop jumping on stereotypical opinions mate, broaden your experiences, and then come back with an opinion.
I’m off for tea now with my badly educated wife, and will maybe give my law breaking incompetent lunatic driver mate in Holland a ring to wish him HNY,

I know about a dozen (all of them Polish admittedly) and they all have a cowboy attitude, tearing about like lunatics. I also made no claim to know any. Knowing them has sod all to do with it, you can see it with your own eyes. You’re obviously very pro European, so let’s just agree to disagree. We’ve derailed the thread enough.

So you judge an entire nation, oh wait a minute no, an entire Continent on (about) a dozen Poles that you know. Oh no I must keep up, you first say you know them, then you say you didn’t make a claim to knowing them, then it doesn’t matter if you know, …or even know of, them at all, or not as it has sod all to do with it. Holy anecdotal evidence Batman.
Atrocious driving, of course, and I really hope this guy has learnt a lesson for life, re impatience, though it’s hard to change your personality. I think it’s useful to have a reminder from time to time of how dangerous things are out there, just to buck your ideas up so to speak, though nothing like this. I also think if one of the witnesses affected by this puts in an official complaint (god knows people moan about much less than this egregious bit of driving), then, with this evidence, many points will be heading this way. Surely with a valid video, the police could look at it at leisure almost as if they were there, though without an immediate “ticking off”. Trouble is, seems like people are only usually prevented from doing this sort of thing when it’s too late.
Driver featured in the link is mad for sure. He had plenty of time to move back.
However there is one thing that makes me worry is the attitude towards european drivers most notably polish bulgarians and romanian ones. I am getting trained to drive HGV here in England but I am from Poland myself. Does it automatically put me in the “banned, bad guy” group? Looks like there will be plenty of abuse for me from UK drivers once I am on the job. Shame.
