How not to overtake

Winseer:
…So much for “Company most would like to work for” one reads on the liveried vehicles… :unamused:

That’s Iceland though not DHL…

What a knob !

If the Police can get him I hope they take his HGV entitlement off him for life.

Ashamed and embarrassed to think he dose the same job as me. I know we all make small mistakes from time to time this is taking the ■■■■. I would generally not even consider overtake on a single carriageway, except bicycles and tractors. And to think when someone ask what do you do for a living they will think your like this Knob.

Quite Shocking !!

Hi all. I only recently seen this video off a fellow driver in Iceland. If its a706 that wid have been a driver operating out of Livingston. Just recently has it been show to management by fellow driver. Its a a hired merc from a company in glasgow and all hired vehicles aren’t tracked. Where the trailer is one of the icelands own trailers.
personally if i came across this driver i wid seriously give him a kick in the stones. Anyone who enters dhl Iceland sites as driver or general workers have induction. Assessments if drivers.
i was honestly shocked at this video and if he where full time driver he should get his books for that.
i consider having a hgv licence as a honour and don’t take for granted.
name and shame this clown

the dudes on a mission and bolloxed it up,if it was the dashcam Russia scenario, then he would have taken the sides off of everyone else and put them into the field.i don’t know why he would be hurrying though, surely its just a paid by the hour, drag it out plobber job working with Iceland?..he might be known for having lead boots, but theres always the chance something specific had him giving it the wally hooligan treatment? doing trips for set rates,or being late makes lots go flat to the mat,but surely not so on the agency/Tosco type job? mabey he got told they were about to switch is wifes life support machine back on,and he was hurrying to the hospital to fight with the docs…he bolloxed up the overtake bigtime,so what, nobodys perfect.everyone speeds,or has done so,so its back to where do you draw the line.if anyone saw speeding as an offence, then there wouldn’t be millions made every day in life from speeding tickets.mabey he thought that jeep on the right was plod,or similar and kakked himself instead of plowing on lit.?either way,if it wasn’t for sanctimonious fannies with dashcams it would just never be known about,so who cares.

Not mine, it’s off a FB group…

just shows you that like most companies, then your only a bum on a seat…any company with loyalty to their driver should tell the complainers to pee off and mind their own business.

Yep. Its a bad road we are heading down when evidence for dismissal includes any other drivers edited dash cam footage. There are debates raging on here about other drivers and do i report it or do I not questions asked all the time.
Where does it end if dash cam footage from any joe public now counts as valid evidence? How many “I have a god complex” numpties drive around all day then submit the footage of all infractions to the police? Not just speeding or overtaking either. Litter,■■■ douts, brake lights out,no lights on at dusk, fog lights on in daytime. There are a lot of snidey people out there.

Are we talking about the same footage i’m thinking of.

This wasn’t a bloke chucking a half eaten sandwich onto the grass for the hungry birds to peck over or holding a mobile phone to his left shell like, this was a lorry driven as dangerously/recklessly as i’ve seen in many a year, if those oncoming cars hadn’t taken to the verge then at very best scenario we were looking at a medium speed head on crash, or as is more likely the twerp would have forced the second one he overtook off the road and still managed to hit the oncoming cars.

We all drop a clanger now and again, and i assumed he was simply going to slot between the two cars, having realised he’d bolloxed up, but no he compounded the mistake in the worse possible way by putting completely innocent oncoming people is dire danger of their lives, that second part wasn’t a mistake in any way shape or form.

The bloke is a dangerous incompetent reckless buffoon, he should not be allowed within a mile of a lorry seat, and i have no doubt the TC will deal with him rightly and accordingly if the footage ends up on their desk.

Tell you summat, if that footage ended up where i work, a P45 would be immediate and wherever he was at that very moment would be relieved of his duties.

Fernwoods would love him!!!

I have NEVER been one for grassing a driver or anybody else in my whole life, and have felt contempt to those that have, but I reckon even I would make an exception to this Bellend purely to save lives in the future, as surely nobody thinks that this is the only time he has driven like this, he more than likely does it most weeks and has just been lucky.
Can anybody send a link of this thread to Iceland to point out what the majority of drivers think about this?

Said driver was in our place for a shift last night. We were on a double man trunk and this was the first time i had met him and within about half an hour he was telling me about this incident. True he’s banned from the DHL contract at Iceland but obviously agency still prepared to use him elsewhere. He’s actually been told he caused a collision and he knows there’s footage going about but he hasn’t seen it. I didn’t let onto him i had seen it. He said he was pulling in behind the car when the car braked to slow for the bend and reckoned he couldn’t slow in time to fall in behind.

You are a brave man traveling in the passenger side while that ■■■■ is driving, how was it?

I was a bit wary after he had mentioned it but wasn’t too bad to be honest. We actually took the stretch of road this happened and he stuck to the limits. I did get the impression it has shook him up quite a bit. Couldn’t believe the coincidence as i just saw the video the previous night. Think he only found out about the dash cam footage etc yesterday morning.

+1 !

Had a Belhaven wagon do something similar to me today. Obviously 40mph wasn’t fast enough for him, so after sitting up my arse for 5 minutes, popping in and out of my mirrors, trying to bully me out of his way… the ■■■■ overtakes approaching a blind summit and nearly took out the 3 oncoming cars.

What a ■■■■■■■

Wonder if Belhaven drivers are supplied by DHL too

I had a similar idi0t behind me, I was lucky a roundabout was coming, instead of going out on 2. exit, I’ve done a 540° spin in the roundabout(one-and-half-lap around the roundabout)

obviously your of a different opinion to all the armchair vikings on here then when 1,you didnt refuse to go into the cab with him as he is obviously a maniac that shouldnt be driving, instant books, banned for life etc,2 report him to the traffic office with regards to the video, point them to trucknet, and show them the incident demanding he gets an armed ■■■■■■ out to the gate,3 call him all the descriptions that he has already been called on this when you were sitting next to him.4 tape his conversation, and send it to the comissioners as evidence.5 inform the agency that they forgot to ban him off of their books. or .was he basically just another driver who made a mistake that some herbert caught on a cam,and as usual the pc brigade blew out of all proportion of importance.

There’s making a mistake and then there’s what happened in the video. Have you even watched it?

We all know your standards are low; you make a point of telling us in every post. :unamused:

I’d have thought even somebody of your calibre would agree that this bloke shouldn’t be driving a HGV though.

Exactly how low are your standards? Rock bottom?

I’m with you on this CF
there is no excuse for this, he shouldn’t keep car license. let alone HGV

Not entirely sure who this is aimed at tbh, there was confusion over what ‘ban’ was imposed and I posted a screenshot of an Iceland reply.

Funny that, I’ve just had a slight ruck/difference of opinion along the same lines with Mr dd on the ‘one for supermarket drivers’ thread.
