90 miles a day 5 days a week
604 mile round trip once a week, use a Mondeo ST 2.2 TDCI 47MPG so that is GBP 105.- a week on diesel (use only superduper V power
)
800 yards roundtrip, its a killer
34 miles daily round trip.
4 miles each way, each day, soon add’s up though, at the end of the week i can soon be looking at 200+ miles at the end of the week, as for the car, it’s a honda 1.6 auto that return’s about 35/38mpg. so i’m happy with that.
SmashedCrabFace:

Same car as mine. I don’t use the V-Power fuel though, too expensive for my taste.
Drove to Tenby for a holiday last year. It was loaded with wife and kids and suitcases etc. Went from Wigan and it returned 54mpg. Better than my dads 1.6 Petrol Astra and my brother in law’s 1.4 Petrol Megane. Belting car!
Rich The Stag:
Its a 3 mile round trip to work.I use the car but really i could use my bike…maybe in the spring!!
I’m in my 30th year of work and have never worked more than about 5 miles from home and every now and then i get the bike out but i don’t keep it up more than a week or so.

Do it. I cycled to work for 14 months until last summer. Only a 6 mile round trip 5 days a week, but lost a stone and a half and felt healthier than I had for a decade. Admittedly being so skint that I had to sell my car helped with the motivation
I’ve now moved to a cheaper flat 14 miles round trip from work and have a car again (£40 a month petrol). Not cycled in once. Put on almost a stone and get breathless climbing the stairs.
About 400 yds for me aswell ,though 20 miles on agency .the rates arent keeping up with car costs so will be less anxious to please the agency in future.
I travel 11 miles round trip, started biking it in August and still going strong
I cycle around 4 outta 5 days, I’ve done all 5 a few times but very rarely drop below 4
I do a anything from 30 to 100 miles a day.
Since August I’ve done 20,000 miles…
And I drive a 5.9 litre. Thank ■■■■ for LPG.
In a previous life in the forces I would travel 75 each way, taking approx an hour and a half.
I was fortunate though that the job I had at the time didnt require me in the office all day so could be on the way home by 2pm latest.
Was in a Peugeot 106 diesel getting approx 75 to the gallon, getting paid £17.04 per round trip
Monday mornings were crap though. Had to get to a central London station, pick the boss up (so he could have Sunday nights at home), take him to Portsmouth and then go home when I was ready
56 mls every day Stafford to Brum and back, 30mins each way on a BMW K75 about 55mpg.
110miles round trip each week. Only costs about a tenner in fuel but with a pug 206 1.4hdi I get good mpg.
Last full time job was 40 mile round trip. Yes I’m travelling what two and half times the distance but I’m at a place now where I cab have a laugh and I’m a lot more chilled.
50 metres for me twice a week, then 3 feet from my bed to work
