How many miles to and from work daily?

Guys, just a quick question.

Having just passed my test, and living in a quiet town as it is - there’s not a great amount of Hauliers about here. All the ads on the job centre are roughly 20+ miles from here so I was wondering how far do you travel to and from work combined, daily as a commute?

Sam

Can you not edit your post to add a poll, eg 10.20, 30. 40 etc miles daily. I know some blokes would travel 90 miles for a weeks tramping

for me I do a 60 mile round trip daily to my place of work.

68 miles round trip. 3 times a week.
2 nights out twice a week and a 1 day away trip.
Never had a failed to turn up or late for work.

Depends on rate of pay for me or at least how much I will earn a shift. But have been and will do 30 min drive so roughly 20 miles on agency and permanent. Not nice after a 15 hour shift or at 3am but as everyone in the job knows…needs must/its part of the job.
Closest job I had was 2 miles away, took 5/8 mins depending on traffic lights, was lovely getting out of bed 30 mins before shift and having time for breakfast and a wash and still being there on time

120 mile round trip for me,although I only go to work once and back a week.

A bit pricey in a car with a V6 2.5 litre petrol engine that does less than 30 m.p.g. on a run. I couldn’t do it every day.

Am looking for something closer to home as we speak.

3 miles round trip for me so i consider myself very lucky

22 miles each way, but on fast A roads.

Same engine and fuel useage as me doing a 29 mile round trip for each shift.

Yes, most of all it’s the commute that pees me off, even though I do only drive there and back once a week, it’s too far to go for a bad job.

Sixteen miles there during rush hour - half an hour.
Sixteen miles back in the dead of night - eight minutes.

House to Yard 1.7 miles, BUT am on call, so might do that 3 times a day

About 6 miles round trip per shift so I guess I’m one of the lucky ones

I am here: maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.336482,0.445900

depending where my agency sends me it can be between a 4 mile round trip or a hundred mile round trip. most of the time its a 77 miler daily to a company i work a lot for. I do however get a small amount towards fuel.

I’m another lucky one. 10 minute dawdle so about 3/4 mile. On my push bike in summer it takes 5 min there 2 min back (downhill)

About 2 feet

8 miles round trip .

65 miles each way, only once a week thank ■■■■■ I was doing 115 miles each way not long back :open_mouth:

40 mile round trip, could do it in around 25 miles, but the 40 mile is all motorway, the 25 is all 30mph a roads with lots of traffic lights and speed cameras.

3 litre diesel, 25.9mpg average :imp:

30 mile round trip daily. In the summer months I use my scooter :sunglasses:

20 mile round trip 5 days a week
