My point im trying to get across is this…If a company only need say 2 drivers for 1 night now theres 4 of us wanting the work 2 Poles and 2 Brits us BRITS should get the work wether the poles have been there longer than us or not. It’s never going to be a case of British drivers for British jobs. Never. Never. Never. Got that?
It’s always going to be the best person/people for the job. Hint: It’s nothing to do with Polish/Everyone else, versus the British.
You need to ask yourself why the companies you list are choosing other drivers over you. If you can’t work it out,ask yourself what those companies, want from a driver, and are you able/capable of delivering that. If all else fails, go and ask those companies why they choose other drivers in preference to you? (If they tell you the truth, it might be a painful answer though!)
Here’s your starter for 10. “Attitude.”
Personally, I think if you spent less time whinging about why you’re not getting work, and spent that time making your driving services more desirable, you "might’ be heading in the right direction!
And yes, you might have worked out I’m starting to get hacked off with people who think the world owes them a living because they’re British. Get real! Don’t like the advice? Tough!

If one only reads a lot of the postngs on this forum by bolshie, moaning [zb]s whose attitude to employers leaves a lot to be desired, then it is pretty obvious why our Polish friends get preference. They seem to have a different work ethic. I am not categorising all drivers the same, our company has a great bunch of guys who work as a team and we have no Eastern European employees , but read the postings and despair !

I can kind of understand the point, and whilst I would love to land a nice AGY job, 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, depending on the area you live in, there simply might be none out there. If they work legally, tax paid, then they’re just vthe lucky ones who got it.
When there working moody, cash in hand, because the boss pays 'em less than a legal worker and therefore gets 'em in because of it, that I detest… and there is a lot of it out there…
I useed to have a lovely job, new wagon, 3 weeks on, 1 off, taking english food to spain… the recession killed it off, I knew full well that all the “sweet” jobs had poles and old boys fighting over, so now I drive a bin wagon for a small recycling company… 12 hour days, £8 an hour, 5 days a week… not mega bucks, but better than the rock and roll…
