Orys,where are you mate?
Been away, looking for the popcorn stand
Actually this is something new: A British Driver who actually works and wants to work in the same job that these Poles he’s slagging, instead of just usual moaning “I would not rise my bum to work for these crap money they do” or “I am on the dole, because of them”.
Apart of that it’s just usual crap like: "Some EE Drivers are bad so let’s make them sit another test in Britain - my answer to this is “Some British drivers are crap as well, would they have to sit another test in Britain as well”?
Some ungrounded allegation that “forging driving licenses” is common in my part of the world, well, I several times posted here information what it’s required to pass a C or C+E in Poland, together with schemes and youtube movies, just go look for it. I dare to tell it’s harder to obtain lorry license in Poland than here (and I know something about it as I was doing my bus license here and the course was a joke compared to what I’ve been trhroug for my C back in Poland. As we already discussed several times, the real reason of why you can see some crap Polish drivers is that there is a real shortage of drivers back there, so they take on everyone who got a license and send them to international trucking. You won’t see many of British crap drivers doing this kind of work, as most of them will never be able to get a proper job if they are crap.
But as you called me, I can take part in this thread and try to get answer to my usual question, the one which was never answered and allways ignored:
How is that me, the Polish driver, has no problem to find a good job in this country? (apart from the period when I was injured in car accident and wasn’t able to do most of the jobs, I never had less than three agency shifts in a week for longer than 2 weeks in a row, and never looked for full time employment, when needed, for longer than three weeks.
Britain do not discriminate against any nationality, and I can say I never feelt discriminated, or favourised, because I am Polish.
But it’s perfectly legal to pick the most experienced worker. I don’t have vast experience, my English still leaves a lot to be desired, I am still not familiar with all customs and procedures in this country, yet somehow I was often chosen over my British counterparts.
My only explanation is that if they choose me if they have plenty of experienced Britons, native speakers etc. available and they choose me, I have to be a good worker… Or maybe I am wrong?
