Watching Ice Hockey at the NIC.

Used to play Ice Hockey when in my teens but not many games as we wernt allowed :frowning: :frowning:

Hardly suprising… The North-East used to be the place for British hockey with teams like Durham, Whitley Bay, Cleveland and Crowtree… Kinda sad that the Newcastle Jesters/Vipers don’t compete in the top league anymore but I guess it all comes down to financing due to the fact that it’s a minority sport here in the UK.

Ive 3 horses which take up most of my spare time but in particular endurance riding, i am totally addicted. Get to ride in some amazing places and is a real test of horse and rider fitness keeping up a constant trot/canter. Keeping my mare fit is a major thing as the grading is done on the speed and the horses recovery rate (heartbeat after 30mins of finishing) Rides range from 32km -160km (furthest ive done is 40km) and last over one or two days. Weve just moved into open classes so next year will be aiming at 11-14km/hr and maybe some bigger distances

Carp fishing… Vets Football when the knees fancy it 25-30 minutes max nowadays but we’re allowed 6 subs  .And keeping up with 4 Grandsons (the most demanding hobby) . Anything really to delay the Monday Trampers depression… :unamused:

In my spare time I collect springs, you know, the bouncy kind, you would be amazed at all the different kinds there is, I am also quite into making tapestries, I use recycled Thai body hair (cheaper than the Indian stuff these days)

Summertime ,in my workshop playing with various cars and bikes ,horse riding, boating on the lake, watching rugby,BBQ’s and frosty beverages.
Wintertime ,ice fishing, sledding (snow mobile),cooking, frosty beverages.

Always fancied having a blast on a snow mobile as well. They look like a lot of fun, meant to be very similar to jet ski’ng

They are great fun,we tend to use them on the frozen rivers but also have drag race meetings for them a couple of times each season, that’s how I killed mine last year :unamused:  0-60 is well less than 3 secs on an 880 two stroke triple

This

Not much time for my real job these days though as my hobby takes up all my time

I run a small independent record label. I record and promote a few singer sonwriters. I do this from the truck in the week and home at the weekends… I’ve a few cds to give away, if anyone would like one, pm me an address and ill send you one.

Mountain biking but don’t have enough time to go as often as I like. Cooking a few beers in the local and I like going to a museum or just walking round looking at old buildings once a month or so.

Play bass guitar.

in my previous life i had a studio, record label and a deal with warners. it all ended eventually but what a ride
I know what hard work it is and i have a few mates who still do the ringing round with a new release , (all email now and web links ) so respect for managing to do all that work from a truck !.

trucking is a thing i wish i had of done when i was younger, but when i was younger i was too busy living !!

Similarly, I like local history. I love walking through town and looking above the modern shop fronts, seeing links to the past.
I like walking around old cemeteries; Not so morbid, the old graves often say more about the persons’ lives than modern ones. I’ve found several ornate graves of apparent “nobodies” (no pun intended) and have read how they shaped the town.
One wealthy shop owner lost 5 of his 6 sons in the Great War, his tombstone commemorating them and where they’re buried in France.

I do Hill walking/camping love the solitude and scenery at sunset. Fancy rope work and canvas/leather craft, sell a bit too. Now and then i help build and maintain footpaths for RSPB and local trusts with the help of of inner city yoooths. it’s not community service  and two trips to the gym oh and i ski twice a year

Vauxhall red top engine. autocross chassis with kevlar panels. around 30k to build and race costs well dont ask lol. 1 new tyre must be bought every race and 98 octane petrol used. and panel damage is very often even though its a no contact race. short oval circuits with 32 cars in each race
