In Toby’s case he’d have been gone by the point anyway so you’d have ended up looking like a right [zb]. Mind you, there wouldn’t be any noticeable difference from the norm there.
Except we still have your reg and will pass it to DVSA to pay a visit to your offices, go over all your Tacho records including the one at that moment that showed your tacho was on rest thus giving you a nice ticket anyway, best just not to stop on the shoulder but what would be the fun in that if you can’t cause an issue between the HA and you just for fun. Weird the things people do to get off.
Threats threats and more threats, is it any wonder you people get zero respect from the working public simply trying to earn a living? You are supposed to be public servants, there to assist the public, working for the public but no, that is what we are supposed to believe. The actual fact is you are there to try and cause as much disruption and raise as much revenue as possible.
You people are absolute ■■■■■ and a total waste of space.

Why are driver so scared of carrying on until they find a safe place to park?
Read the rules lads, its perfectly acceptable to carry on to a safe place to park regardless of the fact you are out of driving time. You could call in to every service station on the M1 t ofind there is nowhere to park, no problem, carry on to the next until there is a safe place to park. It’s perfectly ok to do so providing you write on your print out.
Yes you could technically drive for 5 or 6 hours and get away with it, learn the rules!

You don’t go over the water, do you?
I don’t which is why I know what is legal over here. For those " when I were on’t continent " or “when I drove over t’ watter” it is clearly a different story as you will get prosecuted for breaking the law in this country. This is not the topic though so lets get back to it please.
But why let a trivial fact like that get in the way of you being TruckNet’s Saturday night armchair expert?
Breaking news! this thread is about a UK driver parking on the hard shoulder in the UK! Lets not let the facts get in the way of a good argument.
Is Toby an exclusively UK driver?
I don’t know nor do I care. His post does not state otherwise so why should I assume otherwise? His post relates to this country and this country alone hence my response relates to this country, now, if you were to start a thread with the scenario where he might visit another country then my response might be different but until then and only then STFU!
Some friendly advice from someone with experience; go and drink some water before posting again.
Toby is well known on this forum.
Taking his previous posts into account, why wouldn’t you assume he goes abroad?
Because I responded to the post in question. Why would I sadden myself trawling through a posters previous efforts?
My response was based upon his question pure and simple, why is it so difficult for you to accept that? There was no mention of driving over t’ watter and given your suggestions that he might do then why would such a big trucker experienced pro need to be asking such trivial questions in the first place? Surely his experience would tell him not to run to the bone in the first place or is he just a condescending tool like yourself?
Read the original post again please because it seems to me like you are just looking to cause an argument because you can. Had too many sherberts tonight perhaps and feeling a bit hard?
The question was about the HA in this country. There was no mention of running abroad so why should I assume it? Clearly you are one of the regs who thinks they can get away with trying to belittle the newer members. well, bring it on big boy, I can hit the keys a lot harder than you.
Given your ability to assume things, shall we be offering help on how to protect yourself from the Ebola virus because the op might be travelling to a high risk country soon for his holidays, but we are not to know because he hasn’t actually told us yet.
It’s apparent that you chose to disregard my friendly advice. Perhaps in the morning you’ll see what everybody else can see now; how daft you are.
Let’s go back to your original question for a minute…

+1…you are dealing with classic jobsworth h&s pc beancounters of the highest degree,i often wonder for the same reason as I wonder about plod logic,do they actually believe the utter pish that they spout,or are they just completely brainwashed as well as brain dead?..its bad enough having to live with their incompetence on uk motorways, surely driving a plod lookalike 4x4 dosent mean we have to have discussions on here as well ffs, there are none so blind…as a wannabe plod in a hi viz cabbage job.no point in trying to argue with them, the shutters are down, black is white, and white is fekall, cabbages, every single one.

toby1234abc:
I was coming up to 4.15 driving time and planned to come off the M11 near Cambridge.
Then the slip road was stationary.
It is now 4.30 hours driving.
A 45 minute break is due.I pulled over on the slip road.
There was room for lorries to pass me.
Hato turns up and are sending a tow truck assuming i have broken down as cctv monitoring the roads.
It was now 43 minutes break.
They ordered me to move even though i only needed a few more minutes.
My fault for not stopping before they said and they have sent for the Police.
I said i was not sure of the area.
If i fell asleep later ,who is at fault then ?
Should have i waited for the old bill tp sign the printout ?
There is the question.
I offered advice based upon that very question.
You decided to go off on a tangent because your wife left you at home on your own tonight.

Because it’s not worth the hassle from either the office numpties using the tacho analysis software and/or VOSA if you get a pull at some point in the future. Yes yes yes I know you’re going to bang your worn out drum about how they “can’t touch you” if you put some pen ink on a print out, but regardless, it’s still not worth the hassle.
Big Jase: Except we still have your reg and will pass it to DVSA to pay a visit to your offices, go over all your Tacho records including the one at that moment that showed your tacho was on rest thus giving you a nice ticket anyway, best just not to stop on the shoulder but what would be the fun in that if you can’t cause an issue between the HA and you just for fun. Although some parts of your statement are correct -(underlined) ,
Might I suggest you attend your RCC / Offices, to find out what and how information gets collated / data based / figures -reasons and what intel actually gets passed on to relevant parties before coming on here /internet forums and spouting bo77o7\s
.
before worrying about squealing to their superiors who i presume treat them as a joke anyway.
Hi Trux, I read a document last week which opened my eyes to how much intel we do collate and pass onto relevant parties, mainly DVSA. Down to a truck being involved in eight incidents just on HA network. This is either very unlucky, bad driver (if all are collsions) or lack of maintenance if all are breakdowns. Numerous vehicles appear several times on the information collated. At the moment, this intel is shared because HATO and DVSA are both DfT Agencies, but what happens in March when HATO become a GovCo, I’m not sure. If it helps getting poorly maintained trucks off the road, that cause congestion by either crashing or breaking down in live lane, must be a good thing??

Your experience tells you poor maintainance is a large part responsible for crashes and breakdowns ?
