There are now a few different books all doing the same thing,all with factitious characters who basically made a tonne of cash from the story of god! They all want money they all prey on naivety!

You’re a bit late to the party Jakey, I seem to remember now from the last thread that you were also in the ‘God squad’.
With respect mate there can never be literal proof of the existence of ANY God, it’s all heavily biased opinion from those that believe all this stuff,.and who both want to believe it,.and who feel the need to believe it…for whatever reason.
It’s exactly like asking my little Grand daughters to give me 5 proofs of Santa, they would come back with the following as ‘proof’…
I wrote him a letter and he answered it.

Anyway before we get stuck into the Grolsch (minus the wife) she has covid again btw and is suffering, I wish all the believers and non believers a very Happy and prosperous New Year.

A bit of a contradiction mate, you decided to come onto a religious topic and post a religious link and then state the above? With regards to Sploom, he handled himself very well and gave some good answers and in all fairness, this is a forum and not a group of people picking on a weak person. If at any point sploom felt that way then it is so easy to either switch off the forum or just don’t bother to reply. He chose to put his view accross and in a dignified way. Happy New Year BTW.
Thats right,its only a forum and I expect to be scoffed at anyway by a certain percentage of people when I talk about the subject.I remember one guy in my old job flew into a rage and his face was red,eyes bulging ,just because I brought up the subject of how cells are so complicated,it would be impossible for all those ingredients to come together,oh,and then grow a skin to hold it together in the bag,oh and to replicate itself…When I suggested only God could have made this ,he got really angry with me,so whatever I get on this forum was easier than dealing with that person.
But the message of Christianity is offensive because youre telling people they are a sinner and people dont like to be told that.⁸

Only science could have made us, we grew from bacteria millions of years ago, tiny micro particles that became life,we went through many cycles of life before humans ever appeared, no bloke with a wand suddenly made us, who made him then? It’s hilarious to see grown men still believe in santa, I mean God.
This is the way I see it, right or wrong it is my personal view. As an outrageous example I will use a real life scenario. I have a few gay friends, I do not mind them being gay in the slightest. I don’t care that they are gay as they are still my friends whatever their persuasion. However if they started trying to convert me then the table turns, I wouldn’t expect them to say, hey have you ever thought what being gay can offer you? or trying to convince me that I am wrong by being hetrosexual. Same as religious people, I do not mind or care if they have religious beliefs that is their choice and their beliefs, it isn’t their right to try to convert anyone into their beliefs as if people believe in God and religion then they will find each other regardless, there is no need to preach to others in order to convert them. Spreading the word will only offend and upset people like a salesman for double glazing knocking on your door annoys you. A conversation on religeion between believers and non believers is fine and actually interesting providing neither side is pushing their beliefs on to you. That is where it becomes offensive.

The pride events are a celebration of the right to be gay and not to encourage you to be gay. Pushing beliefs does not amount in ordering someone they must do something as you suggest. If it has to be voluntary then why push it in the first place? Inviting someone to a church is the same as a gay person inviting you to a gay pride event. Although I would prefer to go to the pride event if being honest.

The site, in typical religious fashion, bends the facts to it’s ownbenefit, and uses science’s inability to proof what was before, or caused, the big bang as proof, that the big bang is impossible. And in the same breath, uses the fact that religion can not proof what was before, or made, god, as proof that god exists.
Make up your mind.
