Yes,I do feel uneasy about it.I guess thats why you chose this topic, right, weve got him here.Lets aim for the weak point.Im not going to be drawn into that, anyone who wants to know what the Bible says on homosexuality can search it themselves,no need to drag me into it.Im only a mere mortal,my human opinions dont mean anything anywayAhh right.
But that does not stop you being very opinionated on everything else, whilst at the same time backing it up (in your view) with passages from the Bible…so what’s so different about this topic? Is your religion being compromised by political correctness and subject sensitivity?
Or are you afraid to illustrate how bigoted it actually is in reality?
I’m amazed that you are so unharacteristically coy about it.It seems that your unfailing confidence in the opinions of your chosen sect is a tad selective eh?
Love the (pseudo) humility all of a sudden.
The problem with this topic is the LGBT movement has gathered pace in recent years as you know and it has got to the stage you could be arrested or jailed for posting anything that goes against the LGBT agenda, even I watched an interview with Teresa May and she was asked if homosexuality was a sin.She said it wasnt. What else could she say?
But you arent the first one to throw this at me ,so my answer would be.What do you define as a sin?
If you are an atheist there is no such thing as a sin.
If you are a Christian, then you can see what the Bible says about it but either way,no need to demonise a 3rd party over the issue.
I didnt realise I was so opinionated
Oh come on ffs…Grow a pair man,.have the courage of your convictions, you have had absolutely no problems doing that up to press !
Don’t turn your answer into another b/s laden question.!!
Don’t give me all that ■■■■■■■■ about getting arrested
.
Sure if you go on the street and use language that is offensive as an absolute, and you use terms and names that are no longer acceptable in society,.somebody somewhere either in an official capacity or a chancer off the street is going to shut you up…
But as far as I know in this country free speech is still a right, as for the forum the mods will only chop you if you break the rules,.the old bill.aint Trucknet fans last time I looked. …,
So spill your guts, let’s hear what your beloved radical SS division wing of the church say about homosexuality
You have a good command of the English language,.you have an unhealthy knowledge of the bible to illustrate your views, you follow all this stuff, so you have all the tools…I mean you have had no problems nor qualms gobbing off about everything else, laying out controversial non populist views ain’t usually a problem to you,… in fact you have stated many with a sense of pride…
So tell us what you think in a polite and tactful way laying out your opinions and your sect’s opinions on this subject… instead of copping out in fear of becoming unpopular (a ship that as already sailed btw due to your unwelcome missionary activities )
So over to you, your potential flock awaits with bated breath…(and don’t be using Satans temptation of Christ to denounce his faith as a comparison to my questions to avoid it …, that would be just far too predictable,.and would show even you as having ideas above your station, you ain’t rocking a long white smock with a halo…and my name is Rob not Lucifer.
SHHhhhhhhhhh it’s all gone quiet .
He’s in church consulting his head office for an answer that ain’t gonna show them up in their true church bigoted light.
Here’s a Depeche Mode classic (which kinda sums up things and his efforts to convince me) to listen to.whilst we await his carefully constructed reply.

Good excuse to play Depeche.Mode if nowt else why we wait for the words of the Messiah …who ain’t a naughty boy btw.
You went to Sunday school.
Did you ask them about this?
Your grandparents brought you up in the Christian faith.
Did you ask them their position on it?
Or is it just me you ask,in order to show me in a bad light?
So many questions you could have asked but you chose this one for a reason. You could have asked how our church helps the poor,or those struggling with drugs, alcohol or ■■■■.or widows, relationship issues
Im sorry but I wont be put to a test like this.

Ahh right, so I,m only allowed to ask you questions that you choose, so you can bombard me with even more bullcrap…got it.
Nice of you to make a list for me btw, but I prefer it if you answer the question that I have put to you.
Believe it or not mate when I was a kid homosexuality was not one of the main topics of conversation I had with my elderly grandparents, especially in that era when it was something not to be discussed.
On the other hand I am aware of my parent’s attitude, they are both in their 80s and are not bigoted like yourself and your church, they live by the same code as me…ie.live and let live,.and do not force their wills or ideals in others
As for them trying to bring me up as a Christian,.that was more suggestive than forced upon…(the way that good and proper parents bring up their kids …as I did. )
You are just like all the other religious fruit cakes mate of whatever religion…full of religious wind and ■■■■, choosing and forcing on others topics that you feel confident and not embarrased about…
But this is my choice of topic, and you can not deal with it.
So instead of you trying to find a ■■■■■ in my armour in your job of a converting evangelist,.I have found a big gaping hole in yours.
So basically you have showed yourself up in your true being,. state of play, and colours…
An oppressed brain washed bigot, who masks it by refusing to speak about sensitive subjects with grossly unpopular opinions, but all to ready to tell us how good his God is…Aye right.
Do not bother me again with your crap.
ROB 1. TRUCKNET JESUS 0.
My next question btw was going to be…
How would you feel if one of your own kids came out as gay.
Me? Admittedly not my first choice, but rest assured it would make no difference to me whatsoever, I would still love them the same,.and not make them feel bad about it in any way.
Maybe my code of living is actually (and bizarrely) more 'Christian ’ in literal terms than yours eh?

Let me answer a few of these questions.
I bet that questioning the existence of god, or his motives, at sunday school would have gone down well.
You are asked the questions here, now, because we are having this conversation here, now. As a child, you believe and accept what grown ups tell you, because that’s the only influence you have, and you have not yet learned to question and evaluate. That’s why sunday school tries to drum all this into young minds, before the become critical.
The church helping the poor. Dont make me laugh. The individuals who help the poor are not “the church”. The church has enriched itself beyond measure, through extortion (sorry, the weekly collection), and running businesses without paying duds or taxes. Very little of that will get to the poor. Most of it goes to the clergy.
Plenty of non religious people and organisations help the poor.
You’re only put to the test if you engage in the debate.
Oh, and of course on the final day. Wether yoj like it or not.

That aside, at least now I am armed with the knowledge how to shut these ■■■■ ers up when I get unwelcome attention…Ask them, (preferably in front of a audience, to watch them squirm) what they and their church think of the way of life,.and acts of homosexuals.
I have a strong hatred for religious nutters ,.which is why I have hung on like a terrier to this argument.
They spout their unwelcome well rehearsed routine crap and expect everybody just to endure it,.I am anti all this stuff as much as matey is pro,.so he picked the wrong guy to try and turn.
Normal people with beliefs? …no problem,.I took my 80+ year old Auntie to the cemetery to visit my Uncle’s grave today (both church goers) she said something along the lines of ‘‘At least he’s with God’’ I certainly didn’t kick off to her as it gives her comfort, I just smiled in agreement to her and gave her a hug…but she ain’t some full time religious obsessive, in fact I mentioned my spat with matey to her in passing not in any detail btw, as I was actually posting while sat in car waiting for her in the cemetery. She just laughed and said ‘‘Well he certainly won’t get through to you Rob’’
Over the years church numbers have dropped dramatically, my local one has gone from packed congregations when I was a kid,.to a few elderly regulars, in fact the large church interior as been halved to replace the old church hall which has been sold.
I reckon within 10 years it will be empty every Sunday,.even Sunday School is non existent any more, lads today play Sunday football…far more healthy for bodies …mand especially minds,
.I wish I had the choice back then.

We are an independent church so I cant speak for the mainstream churches that may or may not have abused their position.
We are called to helo the poor, but not to boast of it.Do it in secret ,no need to tell anyone.I agree with you on the tax issue,I think they should all pay their taxes.I made a rule now,I dont sign those that let organisations claim tax relief, for example, when you go into a museum or something like that and they ask you to sign those forms
People will hate you for being a Christian.
It says in the book of Mathew5.11
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you
Its not nice but it goes with the territory so to speak.Ive had get really angry at me just for bringing up the subject.I dont hate them back for it

So here we have another Bible class.
Address the blindingky obvious controversy of your ‘church’ that you are unwilling to admit to.
You avoid the question because you and your church condemn homosexuality, you are outdated, you are bigots.
Either admit it or refute it.
It is not a case of trying to catch you out or show you up…you have no problems spouting other policies you should have no problem explaining this one…or are you not fully committed to your church,.are you sensible and astute enough to realise they are wrong.
More importantly, taking your adverse attitude to the subject,.I ask again…What if your lad was struggling with being gay because of YOU and your narrow mindedness,.how would you deal with it?
I will not let this go, for as long as you come on here…
So either put up or shut up with the patronising bible quotation crap.
Your call.
It is clearly a difficult thing for a Christian to deal with.I spoke with someone in my last job who said he was gay and with Christian parents. He told me he was born this way,had no control over it.
I dont know how to deal with this because the Bible forbids same ■■■ relationships as far as I can determine. So,if was attracted to men instead of women,I would just have to abstain from taking it any further than that and thats the only advice I can offer as a Bible believing Christian.I do believe that God designed the ■■■■■■ act to be between a man and woman as husband and wife, only. We dont allow same ■■■ marriage in our church but the time is coming, they might start forcing the issue.
At last .
But thanks for that anyway.
What about if your lad came out, would you support him as I would if it was one of mine.
robroy:

Yeah, but what if he came home in one of these…
It depends what you mean by support.I wouldnt disown him but I wouldnt be able to encourage him down this path either. But the thing is,I dont have to deal with this issue.I just have to deal with problems as they arise. And there are enough of those without looking for more.

Maybe so…but it is a relevant hypothesis being a family man.
There are lots of things that you don’t have to deal with, but you should be prepared if the occasion does arise,.orcat least know what you would do.
Surely it would be a conflict if interests with your strong beliefs.
The dilemma of…
Am I loyal to my boy by supporting him thus reassuring him, or do I just quote endless Bible passages to him telling him he is wrong, bearing in mind he can do the far end of f/all about it…even if he wanted to,.which is highly unlikely anyway.
With me it is wife and family over absolutely everything and everybody , no exceptions.
And I am proud to admit that.
the nodding donkey:
Yeah, but what if he came home in one of these…
Oh God NO !
I’d try an exorcism ceremony by the light of candles with a picture of Alan Shearer in one hand and a Newcastle shirt in the other chanting ‘‘The Blaydon Races’’ in his left ear,.if that didn’t work I’d banish him to eternal purgatory and damnation on the next train to Sunderland.

Mathew 10.37 sprang to mind after reading your post
Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.

Nah…not a scooby mate.
Apart from the fact that you are deliberately evading my question again.
Wtf does that all that mean exactly.?
Don’t make me regret asking please answer me in plain and modern English preferably in your own words.
