Give it time Vince, nmaybe it will be a flood, maybe it wont. But I can tell you theres about 20 been bought in to work on a local firm by where I live right now.

I know Biggus, but this is for driving in partic, for myself, I say enough’s enough, and it needs stopping before the place is full to busting!

Don’t be too sure. We’ve got one polish fella already and rumor has it that there are another 12 on the way. My flat mate was speaking to a girl who used to live in Poland and apparently there is a massive rate of unemployment and that most children are taut englislh at school. The future’s bleak at my firm. Hence I am making plans to get out of this industry all together so that come next march I won;t have to worry about how i’m gonna pay the bills.

I hope youre right to be honest Biggus, I do, im just afraid that again, the govt has sold us down the river, and we are the only financially attractive nation with totally open borders in the EU! Its not that I have any objection to immigrants in general, I dont, but this is just a small isalnd relatively speaking with a lot of folk already. But if we were to try and emigrate to Aus, or USA, or any other place for maybe betterment, we have a hard job to get the green light! I agree with that, and we aught to be the same here I think.

i heard the other day that the goverment are about to do a u turn on this wtd,as they ain’t no where ready for it,plus its being challenged at the courts as we speak.so these bosses that have already gave these other drivers a job well it might back fire on them.don’t know how true it is as i said i just heard. 
Wincanton for woolworths in swindon have just employed 20 polish drivers.
Its the start, being wincanton the size that they are, im sure many more will follow for various contracts, then no doubt exel will follow suit.
ive seen a lot of ads in truck magazines lately for agencies who specialise in polish drivers. i can see more and more of them (all these new eu countries) coming here and to be honest i would be doing the same if i was in there position. i only work for money after all.
that said i wont be long at the going rate before the englishman is the minority in this country.
another point is that all these new foreign drivers that come overhere are not thick, and whilst initially they my come here and take up them low paid driving jobs (and lets be honest, there is loads of them). it wont be long before they want the same as everyone else.( quite right too).

stop them from coming in the first place.
as mentioned already is is ■■■■ near impossible for a brit to emmigrate anywhere because a driver is not a recognised trade. never has been in there eyes and never will be. and that should apply here to.
oh, but there is a driver shortage!!! they will say. same every where in the world, i say.
drivers are under valued, mostly underpaid and un respected and without us countries would be on there knees.
so train them, value them and pay them right.

what will be the future of the good old british truck driver in the aftermath of this is my great concern. it is hard enough as things stand to recruit young,ns into our industry. now companies are going to be even more reluctant to put young lads through there tests at company expense. as all they will have to do is ring any fly by night agencie and get as many drivers as they want. with the current rate of immigrants flooding the place… NOW LETS GET THIS STRAIGHT BEFORE I GET SLATED… i am not against people coming to work and better there lives. be it from where ever… what i am against is the damage it will undoubtadly do to the allready [zb] transport industry in the uk. some sort of control HAS to be put on this. again it comes down to the british government… it gets me so flippin angry at the way we gert shafted at every turn it really does…

Its because we didn’t finish the 2000 fuel strike with a full strike for drivers conditions!
The govenment know how powerfull we are as a group, they are ensuring that this power is iradicated as soon as possible 
Yes they will kill off the british trucker, Yes we had chance to stop it, may be we still have, but time is running out!
And all you “i’m allright truckers” will be moaning when your good’ish job is a crap one, because you didn’t stand up and be counted when you had chance!

Well Terry I agree with what your saying, and one of the reasons I voted UKIP in the euro election is to try and get this type of thing sorted. They want to stop the immigration of people to this country, and believe enough is enough, I do too. I know what you mean about getting slated, but it aint a racist thing here, its a question of too many people having the right to come here when the equivalent right is not afforded to us, yes, some place will have us, but not the equivalent chance that the ones coming here get! As Dave well stated, its just a level playing field in the world we need, not closed doors for us, and ours open for everybody else! Like he said, if it aint halted, eventually the place will become even more crowded, we’ll be a minority, and no long term good can come of it. Well, thats what I reckon anyway.
They are all over here mate, I met a guy from Russia last week who had driven from CA to NJ, but couldn’t read English, he was Russian. But then most of the drivers over here are illiterate and can’t read signs so I suppose thats the norm 
How do they get over there Pat? you know already if I tried it to get there as a driver would be very difficult!
