I cant understand why we are wrecking the economy and young peoples life chances over this.! I dont know of any one who has died of Covid not WITH Covid. Two friends lost their wives to breast cancer ,nothing stops for that.

Cancer (all types, not just breast cancer) kills around 450 people every day in the UK.
Covid-19 first arrived here in late January. The first death (in the UK) was recorded at the beginning of March. The “lockdown” measures came into force towards the end of that month, yet by mid-April Covid-19 was killing nearly three times as many as cancer every day. No-one knows how many more would have died had the “lockdown” not been imposed.
Oh - and the reason for imposing the restrictions for Covid-19 but not for cancer is that you cannot get cancer simply by coming into contact with someone who already has the disease, or by touching surfaces etc that they have also touched.

Where are the deaths? Why have so many people like myself never heard of any one dying from this deadly killer. I would need to know about some famous people from the world of sport and entertainment keeling over .We have been told that Donald Trump survived it as did Prince Charles and his Son. I regularly pass golf and bowling clubs where the flag would be out at half mast and its just not happening.

There isn’t a uniform spread of the virus nor of deaths from it. Some posts mention knowing multiple fatalities, so on average, some of us will know of none.
The rich and famous might be better able to stay at home or in bubbles. The poorer who need to work, and use public transport are possibly more likely to get it.

I’m not doubting there is a virus and I know a couple of people that’s had it(tested positive and one was quite ill) However I’m puzzled how they think the restrictions up.
They’ll shut pubs and restaurants but leave supermarkets and diy shops open e.t.c,on the 2nd off December they’ll probably let all the shopping centres reopen but not the hospitality sector,it’s supposed to be a airborne virus,the amount of people that walk around these places at any one time how are they not dropping like flies?
The schools and universities are open which you would have thought would be the first places they’d shut again,yes we know education is crucial but how many kids would have it and take it home with no symptoms whose parents could then take it to work showing no symptoms?
You’ve got Wales coming out of a lockdown as England goes into one,dunno what Scotland are doing now but who thinks this crap up?

I have never practised social distancing, I have never worn a mask, I have not increased my hand washing I have not had covid nor do I know anyone who has had it apart from on tv. I also saw santa flying on a sleigh on TV once so who knows

To be fair history suggests that placing unquestioning compliant trust in authority doesn’t usually end well.While stupidity and piloting a truck through the worst than everyday can throw at it is mutually exclusive.By necessity it gives us a sixth sense in questioning everything happening ahead and around us.
