Has anyone been killed or injured?

I went to M+S foreign currency counter last year & the young guy that changed my dosh was wearing hi-viz. I was shocked -he wasn’t wearing a hard hat! Couldn’t see if he had the boots on.

Maybe hi-viz is a fashion item now?
I hated the ■■■■■■ plastic things & up until their invention I had never been killed or injured because of not wearing viz.

I have neither been killed or injured .

I used to wear mine like a turban. Just to prove a point where I used to work. :sunglasses:

Don’t get the idea of the blue hi-vis, because unless its dark and your headlights reflect off the bands they are useless as a high vis garment and they dont conform to EN471 certified regs for hi-vis anyway. And as for making you take off your hi-vis and putting on their non hi-vis I can’t see how they can make you it doesn’t make sense, my head hurts :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Iv’e been injured once and killed twice…I wear it all the time now

I would have loved to have stopped and argued that point with them but i was in a hurry to get tipped

Dont wear mine whilst driving for two reasons…

1 - if it’s dirty for some reason (especially on the back) you’ll end up with dirty seats.

2 - I find it reflects in the windscreen, and be distracting, especially at night

Been royally done up the 'arris dry a few times for not wearing one.

Death is possibly on the extremity for posters to reply and answer honestly :unamused: , but I’m always optimistic of coming back as some fit birds leotard crotch piece.

Just think positive, it keeps folk in a job, and is good for the economy. So wear your Hi-vis with pride, your helping the needy.

Not allowed to wear mine whilst driving.

I was killed for not wearing a hi-viz once, luckily I’m a fast healer.

Yes, I forgot to put mine on once, and was killed to death.

I wear one all the time now, just in case the gas boiler explodes again.

nor will they stop a vehicle from crushing you … but they make it easier for the driver to see who they are killing.

Foreman of mine working on M40 construction was killed while wearing hi viz and hard hat, A Caterpillar Compactor 826C reversed over him, the driver didn’t see a thing! Happened at dusk.

Was it that same machine?
They did a good job of cleaning it afterwards.

I’ve killed and injured several people wearing HiviZ. I know this because I was able to see them in that little kerb mirror as they went under the nearside front wheel.

I’ve not noticed anyone who wasn’t wearing a HiviZ, but then again you wouldn’t would you?

I have just got out of the shower, luckily I was wearing my hi vis and safety boots, otherwise I may have drowned or been shot or stabbed!

Back in the 1800’s there was no such thing as a High viz, which scientists have now discovered is the main reason why the age expectancy was so low!

I reckon all politicians and jobsworths should be made, NO forced to wear Hi-Viz all the time, then we can see the twerps coming and take appropriate action.
