You have to give Carryfast 10/10 for persistence in continuing to post his knowledge and expertise on a wide range of topics on this forum that he has absolutely no knowledge or experience in.
Yes, I’m especially impressed with the way he’s continually re-writing the fundamentals of astrophysics. It’s tempting to tweet Elon Musk and tell him TN has a line on where to find the missing info Musk needs to get his Mars shuttle up and running. I’m hoping that one day CF will be kind enough to reveal his own version of the Grand Unified Theory that Stephen Hawking never managed to achieve.

I didnt know about that 20 minute ruleBecause it doesn’t exist. The only time you can go over if there is an unforeseen event where you have absolutely no choice, say you’re caught up sat for hours on the M1 because of an accident, you run out of time whilst you’re sat there and you have no choice but to continue to drive but you can only do so to the very first available parking. You can’t do it because you should’ve been able to do your day’s work in 12hrs but an accident earlier in the day held you up. So given that robroy was already somewhere off the road parked up he’d have had a hard time defending driving over 15hrs.
Agreed, DVSA would have just said it was bad planning and acted as you’d expect them to act.
There’s the 2020/1054 get-out-of-jail-free-cards, where you can go one or even two hours over your time, but neither of those would have applied here.
Yep, got to love the ‘‘I’m a driver myself I know these things’’ attitude from him, seems that he actually ‘knows’ ■■■■ all.
I was 95% sure he was talking ■■■■■■■■, but as I said if I’d got arsey with him he would have made it awkward for me parking in his own little kingdom and I really couldn’t be arsed and just wanted to get my head down for the night…
Even I can do ‘humble’ when I put my mind to it.
On reflection after yesterday’s match result (not nice to watch) I’d have been better loading next day and getting in some extra overtime.

How is that possible? Unless you fail to apply the handbrake, which comes on automatically now anyway. Why would site rules stating you must apply the handbrake make the slightest difference as to whether you do or not?

Ok,…I rocked up at 7 expecting to get loaded .I was booked for a live load not for trailer to be loaded for me…don’t ask me why as I neither know nor care, just suffice to say that is how they wanted it…ok so far?Define ‘live load’.
I’m assuming that means that ‘they’ load your trailer on arrival ?.
Which stops you from dropping it and letting them get on with it, while you drive the solo unit to your chosen parking place to take your 9 hours rest, how ?.
It’s obviously going to be loaded when you arrive back there to take it.
Oh ffs.
Yes, correct load it while I’m there attached to the trailer.
Tell you what give them a bell.and ask them why they insisted that I loaded it either when I arrived at 7pm (after not getting a definitive answer when/if I was getting done.) or come back in morning if you really need to know.
Do you really think that if I was given that option I would not have taken it,.had my 9 off to return to a completed trailer ?
…
I do not know, maybe they were on a tight loading schedule,.maybe they wanted to get finished, maybe they were all.Sunderland fans laughing at me not getting back for the game, maybe they didn’t like the look of me, who knows…who ■■■■ cares??
The object and reason for the whole thread was about power crazy and unreasonable shunters with ideas above their station…

It’s unusual for Carryfast to derail a thread from It’s original topic and turn it into 25 pages of crap.

Thanks for that you two.
At least my wife thinks I have a pretty face, and my Mother loves me.
I got shouted at by a shunter for going four buys against a one way system instead of driving all the way round the warehouse.

when did the handbrake coming on automatically become a thing ? ,
its bad enough getting grief from a forkie but have you ever been given grief from an office cleaner ? , ( a bloke ) , i have lol he had just washed the floor in the office where i had to hand in my delivery notes told me i could not walk on it as i had just walked across dirty yard , goods in guy came to door and took notes from me , i went back to my cab , few minutes later goods in guy came out , walked across yard and returned to office , i went over to cleaner and asked why he could do it and i cant , he said ’ because its his ■■■ office ’ , i told him he had an attitude problem , ( he was a ■■■■■■ actually ) , and he was screaming his name at me and telling me to report him , so i did , he was fired , seems there was a long list of complaints about him , i would not normally report someone but i was thinking if i go back there he will think he can talk like sh#te to me and i wont do anything about it , i later found out he had threatened to stab another driver .

Who ever had dropped the trailer off before hadn’t applied the park brake (some older trailers still needed the park brake to be manually applied)
The trailer was parked on a slight incline so when the driver coupled up he didn’t apply the unit handbrake got out onto the catwalk put on the airlines and the whole lot started rolling forward
He must of panicked instead off quickly pulling off the red airline he jumped off the side ran around the front trying get into the cab but sadly it crushed him against a wall of the building
I was the one who found him as security had noticed the lorry hadn’t moved for a short while
It wasn’t until they watched the security footage back that they saw what had happened
Imperial Tobacco who I worked for were fined £200,000 even though it wasn’t one of our lorries or trailer and the contractor was fined over £700,000
Star down under.:

The irony in that made me laugh.
As I said just drop the trailer and tell the shunter to do one will collect it after the daily rest period.Picture the scene the shunter shouting you can’t do that as you take off the lines and pull the pin and drop the trailer and drive off out of the gate up the road.

If the favourite ■■■■■■■■■■■■ is 40mins away I’d have lied to the manager and said at the 13th hour I’m gonna be out of hours in 30mins, this would have given them the opportunity to hurry up or drop your trailer and allow you to leave site and find your favourite ■■■■■■■■■■■■ with a hour+ spare, leaving the shutter to move the trailer, and go back after your 9. But you obviously backed yourself into a corner, by the optimism of wanting to get loaded to get back before 12:30 Saturdaypeople are going to stop contributing to this forum if all they get is abuse from people who don’t read properly.
Don’t worry about me mate I’m used to abuse on here.
In fact I wouldn’t have it any other way.
#whipmebabywhipme.
Story of my life there…
#Me Too#
or “Me Tool” as others would have it…
Last time I had any bother on loading bays getting tipped, I told them that if this truck is still there in 90 minutes, it’ll be there for my full 9 hours reduced rest.
It was tipped, and backloaded in 25 minutes after that…
“They needed the Bay” you understand…
I don’t pull off bays to park illegally in service roads to order, since the “Order” is to do something against the Law, which is contrary to my contract, and I suspect a lot of other people’s as well…
Do these “Law Bluffs” get anyone to move that isn’'t a no-speke english type, who doesn’t realize they cannot be obligated to break UK laws on order, let alone EU-wide laws too?
