Gobby shunters.

Carryfast:
The irony in that made me laugh.
As I said just drop the trailer and tell the shunter to do one will collect it after the daily rest period.Picture the scene the shunter shouting you can’t do that as you take off the lines and pull the pin and drop the trailer and drive off out of the gate up the road.

Are you ■■■■ winding me up now and having a chuckle … or what?
Read what I said man…
I had NO dealings with the shunter until I had got loaded as I intended and wanted, at that point I had no time left on my spread.

And do you really think if I had carried out your pearls of wisdom advice, that the shunter would not have buried my trailer for next morning just to ■■■■ me off?..
I’ve already told you he had a penchant for power…ie the whole point of the ■■■■ thread, …not to ask advice on how to go about getting a ■■■■ trailer loaded .
I had no time left on my card to drive anywhere, I had achieved what I wanted…ie get loaded night before instead of next morning when I would not get back in time for the ■■■■ football…how many more times?

I really wish I had not started this post  , is Carryfast annoyed because there is nowhere to go for him on this thread to Google something to pretend he is an authority on a subject once again, in order to close down the argument, and get the final word , or what??

Wow ! :open_mouth: …I’m actually getting angry with him now.
I think I’ll knock the ‘Rob’s trucking tales and anecdotes’’ on the head in future.

The real irony is your lack of knowledge and experience, pure idiocy and propensity to fail due to bone idleness, is well known across at least three continents.

Allowed 20 minutes over your time, tell that to the TC or the Police, can you guess what the response would be.

Blimey I only said why not just drop the trailer and collect it after you’d taken the offending rest period.
I wasn’t expecting the Spanish inquisition and WW3 for saying it Who needs belligerent shunters

Just crawled out of bed, Carryfast?

Due to “issues” CF may submit a post at one time, but it won`t appear until later.
He could reply straight away, then others make some posts, and only afterwards we get to see his response. It can happen that he replies to a post #1 then there are many other posts, and then his pops up at #2, maybe several posts earlier.

It is unfortunate if you only check the latest posts, because you can miss out on some of his real gems!

But I explained every detail to you repeatedly and you kept coming back with te same thing regarding…‘‘What I should have done’’ to get loaded.
The loading bit was not the issue, as in the end I did get my own way regarding that.
My whole post was about shunters being unreasonable, ■■■■ nosey.and having ideas above their station…not to ask people with less experience than myself what I should do to get my trailer loaded…And just to say
NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition. :sunglasses:

Looks like CF got confused between a Bin & Trailer

Just drop your bin here Geoffrey

Out of interest CF, why do so many Bin Lorries have sleeper cabs ■■

You seem to be confused between the idea that a tractor unit, or a drawbar prime mover, and a semi or drawbar trailer or demount body, can all be in two different places at the same time respectively. No need to try to break the hours regs or waste time while waiting for a trailer or box to be loaded or tipped
A bit like your understanding of the difference between a crew cab v day cab v sleeper cab.
Or a day cab demount bulker v a crew cab dustcart.

Maybe I missed something but you were moaning about being told by a shunter to reduce a reduced daily rest to less than 9 hours ?.Because of a late trailer loading ?.
Someone else also said why not drop the trailer to be loaded while you went off to parking of choice for your rest period.
For some reason as usual only I got loads of grief and aggro from the usual suspects for daring to suggest it.

I didnt know about that 20 minute rule

Because it doesn’t exist. The only time you can go over if there is an unforeseen event where you have absolutely no choice, say you’re caught up sat for hours on the M1 because of an accident, you run out of time whilst you’re sat there and you have no choice but to continue to drive but you can only do so to the very first available parking. You can’t do it because you should’ve been able to do your day’s work in 12hrs but an accident earlier in the day held you up. So given that robroy was already somewhere off the road parked up he’d have had a hard time defending driving over 15hrs.

Not quite correct. If the day before a weekly rest you can use the EU derrogation introduced last year to get back to operating centre - Mobility Package 1 or something. When you drill down into the regs delay can also include hold ups at loading/unloading points.

Wasn’t there a “waiving of driver regs” during the lockdown to that effect?

Every transport firm - still rigidly enforced the normal regs however, meaning you could still get the bullet for say, getting 3 tacho infringements over a rolling six month period…

The government came up with a barmy, ill-thought-out rule essentially, that never got implemented on the basis that “no yard wanted to take the chance”…

I’m sure that there would always be some idiots that would be prepared to jump through the hoops of “Listen lads, I need you popping your card, and driving during your daily reduced rest, or you’ll be stuck in Farmer Gile’s country lane blocking everyone else up who’s got there ealier than their window time…”

or even “I’ll let go anyone not prepared to go the extra mile to help out, what with us on the verge of letting you ALL go”…

Work for mickey mouse yards? - expect mickey mouse orders, and mickey mouse wages…

Have you missed the point about it being a live load, Once loaded someone has to take responsibility to water & feed it and not just leave it unattended in a yard.

Yep you deffo did miss something, but seeing as I have listed the events in almost intricate detail so far, you will need to read them all back (if you are that interested. :open_mouth: )
…because basically I really can’t be arsed and I’m deciding between a rope,.a box of tablets,.or a sharp knife.

We really need a sarcasm emoji, I can’t believe a normal person, or even you Robroy, would contemplate the options you offered, over such an insignificant poster. :unamused:

Due to “issues” CF may submit a post at one time, but it won`t appear until later.

You know why that is, don’t you? It’s because of TP/ITP configuration problems in the technnology at the point-of-origin of CFs posts, most cleary observed as prolonged latency, as we’ve seen here.

This is unavoidable because of the asymmetrical bandwidth giving rise to gateway screening violations. It’s not hard to understand when you consider that the rest of use who aren’t CF are all still running on standard terran SS7oIP Technology.

In laymans terms, the final GTT to load balance multiple PC/SSN Nodes, causes a failure in the signaling gateway mate protocol. Simples…

In other words, the fundamental problem is that in CF’s parallel universe his internet operates according to the whims of his newly invented laws of science, which bear no relation to the real scientific laws of our reality, so his posts can only be sent when he revisits our dimension through his inter-dimensional portal (ie when the drugs wear off)
