so these are the people i can take the work from
, i keep getting calls about them regarding work to be done, and they keep putting vehicles onto my R2C
[/
dont understand
i keep getting calls for transporting cars with a car transporter, i thought it was SMH vehicle/fleet solutions (is it these that have given you the push) head office in Worcester, they must have a place in warrington, as they keep putting trucks on to MY R2C ONLINE
robroy:
My heater is set to come on 1 hour before I get up.
If it is on all night I wake up with a dry furry throat
But generally unless really cold i donāt run the night heater over night , a quick blast before i want to get out of bed is what usually do, noise from heater will keep me awake or wake me up during the night unless i have had a skin full

Dry furry throat??
Are you misquoting me now?
You should be a journalist mate
Goldilox:
Canāt sleep with cold feet! Bottle, body or cat are the solutions depending on which part of the week/weekend.
My feet always cold ( as many members on here know ) I just keep socks on or have fluffy bed socks
Never used a night heater & yep done many night out even at -4
Would rather have a working fridge than a night heater tbh
does the night heater drain the battery if left on all nightā ā ?
They can not force you to sleep in a lorry regardless of whether it has a bunk or not. If you choose to prefer a hotel then they must pay. I thought this to be bollox but when I sat the operator cpc some years ago it was a topic that was discussed at length.

Lets not let the truth get in the way of a good dCPC story will you?

If your night heater drains the batteries overnight, you need new batteries

I think this is an OCPC story
I could see that you cant be forced to stay in the truck overnight. If the employer has supplied a perfectly serviceable area to rest at night, as in a properly equipped sleeper cab, cant see that the employer would then have to pay for a hotel at the drivers whim

I agreeā¦I also think itās ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā .
You obviously done a different Operator CPC to what I did.
ā ā ā ā ! I must have been so busy laughing I mistook the O for a D.
Can you say potato Truckbling?

Yeh sod it, thereās a 5 star Hotel up the road from me tonight, Iām gonna book in for the night, and present my boss with the bill on Saturday morning and say, I preferred a hotel Thurs night and Truckbling says you must pay the bill.
Iāll keep you informed.
Please donāt let facts get in the way of being a proper trucker. The rules are that you ācanā spend the night in a suitably equipped lorry", not that you must.
Given that dosing in the lorry has become the norm then it is pretty hard to argue your case against it and keeping your job afterwards may also become a little dodgy but Iām only pointing out the facts.
I used to work for a company that had some sleepers but all drivers were given cash before setting off in order to pay for digs and most if not all the drivers used digs over the lorry. We regularly set off late on strange runs so would stop at random hotels and the company always footed the bill. Granted, if you took the ā ā ā ā you were asked to explain yourself.
Its a little like the drivers who night out in laybys without an island separating them from the main carriageway, they shouldnāt do it but they do.

Maybe you should give your posts more thought before pressing āsendā instead of writing stupid bloody statements and then back peddalling when challengedā¦like your famous āI can earn a grand a week while lying in bed all dayā classic,
this is nearly up there with that.
Your night out money is officially āsubsistenceā you can book into digs with it, spend it or ā ā ā ā it up the wall, but that is why it was originally paid to you before sleepers.
You can not be āforcedā to do ANY bloody thing, nobody disputes that but you show me any haulier who will abide by your so called āruleā of being obliged to put you up in a hotel, send me his number as I want to work for him.
Too late Robroy. Iām away to work for him. Itās great because I tell him the suite I book is 270 quid a night. Itās great. I get over a grand a week for my hotel when In reality I sleep in the wagon but donāt tell the boss that.

Here you go again trying to twist things a little In order to make yourself seem intelligent. I merely pointed out a fact and that fact stands. Disprove it if you can. You are under no obligation to sleep in the lorry end of. How your boss feels about it and all that is irrelevant.
As for your sheep friend, Iām sure it would be a challenge to recoup the cost of a 5 star hotel but if thatās all that was available then sorry, by law he has to pay the basic bill, extras are on you.
merc0447:
Should have slept with the engine on low constant soon fix the night heater when they are pishing diesel up the wall. Idle think uses 3 litres an hour low constant uses about 10 litres an hour. 11 hr rest would be 110 litres
Yuuup, thatāll larn 'em

I aint twisting anything mate, you continually come on here posting inane twaddle passing them off as āfactsā with no back up, as for trying to make myself look intelligent,
ā¦maybe you should give it a try yourself, as so far you have failed miserably.

Ok so we now have the law on our side, so my boss aint got a leg to stand on when I tell him itās hotels for me nowā¦as itās the ālawā .
Thanks for that mate, Iāll be parking outside the āBest Westernā from now on no more ind ests for me now, Iāll just quote these āfactsā and ālawsā to the Old Bill when they try and move me on.
Thanks for the help, me and my ā ā ā ā mates look forward to more of your Truckblingtips,.
