The point I was making which obviously passed a good three feet over your head is that the internet is full of spurious claims, facts and figures. If you choose to believe Google, Wikepedia etc who am I to question your intelligence?

My reply was tongue in cheek, No it didnt go over my head, I cant believe youre suggesting if you read it on the internet it must be false? “choose to believe google”? Google is just a search engine, the links it throws up are where the info is, which link to all kinds of media, yes some media outlets like to exaggerate but come on, are we really dealing with ninja like robbers? or are the sleeping victims already comatose?

Tbh what would an anaesthetist know about keeping someone asleep, I mean the robbers arent looking to do open heart surgery, just make it less likely for you to wake up.

Is it not possible to get some kind of gas.detector for in the lorry
If I am in that situation again I will have wired air horns to the door switch, so whatever the consiousness of the occupants at least the neighbours will be awake.
Just been on the M25 this morning when a new merc mp4 passed me C and H hauliers, on the side there was a little sticker saying “gas alarm fitted” so maybe this gassing thing isn’t so much a myth if you have the likes of Mercedes fitting special gas alarms in there units
It is not a myth, when i had my motorhome i used to buy a magazine of the same name, there were various stories in there and one was about a spate of robberies in southern france ( marseille ) of motorhome owners, there was also a detailed advertisement about Gas Detectors and where you can buy them and have them fitted, and no doubt you can search the internet for them, so the Myth many speak about really is not. One of the many ways our eastern european robbers use to rob, is to use a young female lure, once after gaining entry to your truck, will ask for a drink, maybe alcohol, or could be soft drink, and she will put a drug into the drink, rendering you at her mercy so to speak, and once asleep, takes anything of value. Many drivers fell fowl to this scam, and lost running money, phones etc etc.
I too fell unwittingly for this scam, because it was so cold ( minus 20 ) and my mate wanted a bunk up, i didnt partake in that nonsense, asked a girl and a boy if they wanted to wait in my truck in the warm whilst their friend did the business in the cab next door, so as a gesture, i offered them coffee, and had one myself, and woke up a few hours later minus a few quid, as did my friend, but i always hid the bulk of my money and only kept some in an old wallet for that days use, so didnt lose a great deal but my mate did, practically everything he owned, had more on show i suppose.
I have found that since the arrival of the east europeans, their scams have followed, and are being used around the country, along with the other thieving scumbags they make a great team.

it is a myth
you can get free papers in truckstops reporting of driver shortages and wages of £50,000, these free papers then carry adverts from brokers for HGV training courses, but it doesn’t mean its true
your saying gassing happens but then saying your coffee was drugged
make your bleeding mind up which lie your telling us
Ok so its not a myth, what is happening then? How do a bunch of raggamuffins break into a vehicle while you sleep and steal your hard earned and never get caught?
I dont lie, i merely tell about stories i have heard, the drug situation that happened to me …did happen…and for your information Mr CB, maybe we call it gas because its easier, it could be another obnoxious substance, and because it sprays up the night heater vent when not on, we call it that, also it can be called Narcotic Gas, and i have shown places that sell it, so now say thats a figment of my imagination.
