Fridge container

How much for a secondhand 40ft fridge container in good working order
i have three to sell here in Algeria they where shipped here with paint in and are staying here and we can sell them localy any idea of their worth .

Probably best to go to whoever your local rental people are. Any idea if the actual fridges are serviceable?

Yes they are working and in good order only shipped here from Belguim in the last couple of months test stickers on them

tried looking at Ebay?

Do Grenco have offices out there? Or similar? Who’s the local storage agent? The Algerian equivalent of NorCon or Seabournes etc? They’ll be the people to talk to. Either that or a local freight agent/forwarder who has clients wanting “shipper’s boxes”.

Have a local Bloke who wants them i just need a ballpark price too start at has this is a bit of beer money for us

£1000 each !!or a few cases of fine lager

Can ask at work next week if you like.

A normal second hand 40` will sell for £950 in the UK. Thats without the fridge motor. Google it up…?
The ebay prices are still in the bidding mode.
Algeria you can obviously get more because there is probably a huge customs duty on any imports.

With boxes everything depends on the length of time left on the inspection sticker. Once that runs out they can’t be shipped loaded - though they can be shipped empty - and so are only good for storage. A 40 foot box for storage will make 1000 to 1200 Euros and a fridge - if working - maybe 2000.

If the bloke wants some 20’s I’ve got 8 here to sell!

David Miller According to the price lists here the 20s make the same dosh as the 40s ,about £950.

Thanks for the info their ten months left on the inspection stickers the bloke wants them for storage of imported food has he runs a catering company here and supplies most of the expat contractors here with food so will tell him 2000€ each and can come down a bit . that will be a fair beer token thanks again.

Robertthegreat Start at € 2500 & drop to €2200. Those motors are worth money. They run on Electric as well as deisel. ( But wait until you know the real price of a fully tagged fridge…Could be surprised. But dont get greedy) Make out you are doing it for the parent company & all you want is a drink on the final price...? Having said that you have probably flogged em & they are now the aircon des.res.& cold store for the army of labourers that Algeria is famous for
.

Harry These are shiping containers and are only electric 380/415 volt if they were the both like a reefer i would ask double. Cheap labour here are the chinese they are working for less than the locals and the japs are useing them no cats or dogs near thier camps

Robertthegreat That narrows your market down a bit.( Buy two. Get one Free!! )
Its a pity about the Chinese. They are restricted with travel visas ( Even business people ) so they never get out of China. After watching Western TV shows they are convinced that anywhere abroad is paved with gold. When reality hits them they are too embarrassed to return home empty handed so they end up working for a pittance in an alien land.If they could take foreign holidays they would soon twig.
