Pleased to hear that, I know the full facts of the accident… NO I’ll call it a crash as it my not have been caused by accident were not known when you posted.
Things do seem a lot worse this morning, Just read "Chas’s comment, it made the hair on my neck stand up.
I don’t know if it is because I am getting older that things affect me as they do now (45) but I am easily affected by accident scenes where you know someone has been seriously hurt.
My thoughts really do go out to all involved and affected by this event.
I can agree about Chas’s post, it is that visit you never want, but if you know the full facts, the police would like to hear from you.
The only facts so far are, too fast, too close and thick smoke or fog

imho and i believe most will agree hopefully even JD, that once that comment had been posted it should have been deleted by either mods or site admin, wether you personally agree with his comments is not the point! the point was the comment was still there until JD removed it himself!!..
the defense of him was allowing the comment to stay put even though you yourself admit he was being ripped to shreads…
If mods/admins removed every comment on this forum that people might disagree with or find offensive then the same people who are moaning about this would be moaning about censorship and lack of free speech.

a friend of mine, also a trucker even copied and pasted this comment onto facebook for me to see as he himself was disgusted at the comment!
I feel for the families involved but fact remains that one of those drivers killed/injured may still turn out to be a member on here, or maybe a relative of a member…
I have to agree with all of this the mods on here are quick to censor or even pre-mod certain people yet JDs comment was allowed to stay.
Jd had had a bad day and posted a sick, tasteless comment for which he regretted in the cold light of day but the mods should also apologise for their failure to delete it to prevent bringing the entire site into disrepute.

I couldn’t agree more, as distasteful and ill thought out as JDs post was it broke no forum rules, for the mods to delete it would have been wrong and probably provoked some criticism and accusations of censorship.
If people want a forum that’s reasonably censorship free then we have to accept that on occasions we will read things that we don’t like or that offend us.
JD has explained the circumstances and apologised for the content of the post and that should really be an end to it

Its not suprising we end up with 4 trucks in this situation, not saying they are to blame for the initial impact that caused this sorry mess, but the 3 trucks behind the TNT truck, were traveling far to close to each other to end up in that situation.

Speaking as a normal member and not in any way claiming that this is the view of the mod or admin team as a whole, it is my personal view that someone posting a comment like that which is then universally lambasted should actually raise the opinion of this site in any normal thinking person who reads the thread in its entirety as it quite clearly shows that the vast majority of members find it an unacceptable view.
Anyone who is short sighted enough to use a single post to form a view of this (or any other) site is probably not worth worrying about.

For the record, had I been the one in Paul’s position, I would have made exactly the same decision, left a similar message, and let the thing play out just as he did. As it was, Paul got there first, so there was no need.

It is rather ironic that when somebody makes an allegation about a Company and that Company complains or makes threats of suing the owners of this website, that allegation is removed immediately.
It is even more ironic that when some slag of some people living in caravans that travel around the country (aka ■■■■■■), these posts are removed too because they may upset some.
Yet, when that comment was made by Jessicas Dad. it was not removed.
One would have thought that a forum associated with a publishing company that exists to make profit and that seeks advertisers as the main stream of revenue would be consistent in removing remarks that offend by members of the forum.

Very true.
Come on, hes apologised for it Last night it was reported as a multi car pile up, which i commented on to my dad saying “isnt that strange, no mention of trucks” because the report was very vague. It only came clear the extent of it all this morning.
If it had stayed at a multi car pile up with some injuries how many of you would of agreed with JD’s view?
Anyway, thoughts to the families of people who have lost their life and to the emergency services. Cant have been a nice situation to turn up to or to have to work in trying to sort it all out.
