No i only write a couple of lines because i am busy working. As for my intellect. I have 7 gcses 3 a levels a degree and a masters. My dad is also bigger than your dad. You think adding a lot of rolleyes at the end of a post makes you look smart? Whats next a ■■■■■■■ contest? You just wanted to make some childish point about an engine and I suggest you look at yourself before casting comment on other peoples intellect.

did you also know that Foden designed a large cab based on the XF SSC cab, the design was made quite a few years ago, before the 105 was desinged
in the pics, it is clearly the Foden version of the XF105
with a 600 BHp ■■■■■■■ lump

Also another little known fact was that Daf was the first to use Turbocompounding, long before Scania & volvo came out with it

I did indeed Billy, I also did a TransEurotest with a Daf, MAN & Renault & even though the MAN was marginally the winner on points I picked the Daf as my winner, the all round package was just a bit better in my book (or should I say, magazine ) & I’m a Scania fan

Can’t understand why anyone would want to put a ■■■■■■■ in a DAF.If the good old DKS motor was’nt good enough then it’s time to go for something like this. It’s a ■■■■■■■ free zone.

Not sure on that one. I only saw the written article, not seen Chris Hooper since about 1995
Like skodia are such brilliant engine designers , they based their V8 rattler on someone else’s, anyone know who’s?
Big Joe:

Everyone based their designs on Leyland or Albion engines

All except the Scania V8, it is a totally different design to the fabled AEC V8, the only thing it has in common with it is the cylinder layout
Oh & Carryfast’s Detroits, they also owe nothing to any Leyland or Albion engine, or for that matter Foden or Rootes Group two strokes either
Another little known piece of Daf trivia, they also made a two stroke diesel engine, there’s one in their museum in Eindhoven
