A long time ago (before I had my class one) I was getting into it with my guvnor (the owner’s son) and he lost it and charged at me, I sidestepped him like a matador and he nutted the portakabin wall, we had a bit of a scuffle and then a full on punch up in the yard, I ended up with a black eye, he had a fat lip and a headache from the portakabin.
We were mates though (I know:lol:) and in our early twenties, full of testosterone and attitude. After it calmed down we went for a pint, we both got sacked in the pub when the old man found out and then sacked again when we didn’t turn up the next day 
The firm was run out of a scrap yard, the rabid yard dog was the most placid one in the place but it was a different time and a very different environment then.
I know I’m not alone, in those days effin and blinding was part of the job, it was a two way street though and nobody harboured a grudge for long. A scream up, a bit of pushing and shoving, the odd fist here and there and then all down the ale house afterwards. You’d have crap work for the rest of the week and then it was forgotten.

I was in somewhere the other month, on the agency and the fella in charge rang me up and started ranting and raving on the cab phone. I hung up on him, drove back to the yard, parked the truck up and got my gear and walked out!as soon as he realised what was going on, he started having another do, and was still ranting and raving as i rode out of the gate on my motorbike!
A mile up the road I rang the agency and informed them, that i was not going to be spoken too like that so i left! they stuck by me, still paid me for the day AND billed the company in question!
im led to believe the [zb] in question is now on a final warning from upper management and is as timid as a mouse!
if your on the agency mate, vote with your feet!

Fact
In the past when getting a load of abuse for no reason from people when I’ve been delivering I’ve gone and seen the manager if its been a forklift driver or goods in wallah and if its been anyone of any seniority, the shift manager. I’ve also just shut the curtains and pulled out of a couple of places as well with the blessing of the TM.
