On Saturday I did my first day out in a lorry since passing my test [class 2]. Unfortunately I didn’t actually get to do any driving. Got over to Banbury for a 0330 start, to be sent out with an experienced driver who was luckily a great guy. However, first thing he asked was if I had a digitach. I hadn’t, and to be honest I wasn’t told by the agency that I needed one, so I worked as a drivers mate. A real eye opener, and a good experience as far as seeing what the job entails. We did some multi drops down in Hastings and Eastbourne in a 15 ton Man, 07 plate.
I’m getting my digitach sorted next week.
