Filthy Stinking agency drivers

Speak for yourself.

I’m on for an agency, I do not smoke, or drink. I’m always clean shaven for work, well turned out with clean hi vis stuff and yet it’s the actual employee’s of the place I’m at just now who are all like you described, ie riggers on the seats or bunk, smoking in the cab, scruffy looking.

Anyways, what’s wrong with a bobble hat? Still pretty chilly.

One of our employed drivers leaves his bedding in the cab, the pillows crackle like crisp packets. :open_mouth:

I just typed agency driver into google images

After 6 years on the agency, I am sick to death of filthy stinking staff drivers, who think that it is ok to smoke in vehicles, not have defects rectified, leave the steering wheel covered in crap, have an inch of [zb] on the dashboard, and then go on to blame others for their misdemeanours.

It’s about time their employers sacked them, and put them on the dole if they can’t be arsed to do anything that is within the remit of their job.

Ken.

well then dont turn up at those depots, refuse to work there,as a agency driver youve a choice, vote with your feet

hahaha what the [zb] does having a beard have to do with how you present yourself?
i go to work clean every day i work on an agency because a, it pays more b, i pick when i want to work and where.
the worst people for smoking in cabs (bearing in mind its illegal in a company vehicle) are full time staff, and i leave the cab exactly as i find it if its clean i have polish and dusters and will make sure its left clean and tidy if its a tip i will inform the powers that be before leaving (thats if they wont give me another vehicle) and it will be left as it was found.

thanks again though for the mass generalisation :stuck_out_tongue:

credit to you but ive never seen a agency driver yet with rags and polish, ive seen plenty with wet wipes to give the steering wheel etc a quick wipe round, but ive never actually seen a agency driver polishing one of our trucks yet, thats not to say they dont leave them as they find them.wheras i know plenty of our regular drivers who do carry, buy there own rags +polish.not a pop at agency drivers ,just something ive never seen,

…I love the ‘clean’ aspect and many thanks for that
But why do they have so many electrical plug thingies everywhere?
Why do they have memorabillia, pledging their allegiance to Scania, Daf, Chelsea, Man Utd etc?
Why do they have embarrassing velvet curtains with tassles?
Why do they have those single knob thingies on the steering wheel?
Why do they have identity cards on lanyards?

Why do they have so much stuff in the cab ■■?

And why would they complain that you leave a footprint on the floor? Am I supposed to hover over to the otherside, when it is too dangerous to get out of the drivers door

I would rather drive a unit that is used for the purpose it was designed, to work and generate income for the owner :stuck_out_tongue:

Tz

Any other agency drivers do a ■■■ under the quilt if they know they will never drive that truck again?

carlzberg probably :open_mouth:

I predict 10 pages by the weekend.

Although it’s doing a lot better than I predicted I think ten to be a little optimistic, I’d be perfectly happy with five.
The site has gone a little dull of late and nothing beats a sweeping generalization to get things moving again.

Amazingly accurate.

Not all agency drivers are dirty ■■■■■■■■■■

I worked via an agency for a certain company who checked the units as you drove out in the morning and came back in the evening. They would note everything down, including finger prints on mirrors. ( very keen).
It soon came to light that this was only procedure for agency drivers, as the unit I was given one morning had approx 10 no smoking signs stuck around the inside of the cab and a dirty great ashtray (full) blu-tacked to the dash. Also the unit contained dirty work boots on the passenger seat and a rather dangerous looking sleeping bag on the back shelf. when I questioned the condition of it I was told, dont worry, thats one of our regular drivers units, he only cleans it on a friday.

Double standards!

i,am a agency driver my self,i respect whos truck i am in and there belongings,i always leave it as i found it,
but i must point out that some employed drivers are like pigs, so they must be as happy as pigs in s*it,
not all are the same

Winseer - “I’m only “criminalist” in that I hate criminals wherever I come across them. The colourful metaphor used to describe the said criminal might imply I have something against some race/religion or whatever, but these stereotypes I believe are a part of common speech these days, so should continue to be allowed.
Even on the subject of Criminals, we all use expressions on here like “running bent” which implies a level of homophobia, rather than merely fiddling one’s paperwork/tacho eh?”

Blimey thats a lot of people whom you are going to hate as there are now over 8 million people in UK with a criminal record. Not defending criminals but some really don’t deserve to be criminalised!!!1

Back on subject there are good and bad in both agencies and companies!

A criminal is a criminal by actually being convicted in court. Someone “acting” in a criminal manner is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. Trouble is, most people can’t be arsed to bear witness against such types to get them convicted in the first place!

When was the last time you heard of someone being jailed for stealing diesel with intent to endanger third parties?
(the endangerment might come from threatening the driver, if they should catch them red-handed or perhaps from siphoning the cherry out of the fridge, so the load defrosts, and then poisons someone right?)

Very often, a criminal’s victim might be invited on the “cannot be arsed” ticket to commit another crime to cover the first one up. :frowning:

It’s about time drivers stood up for themselves, instead of worry about the PC brigade. Don’t it make you sad when you drive past a layby, seeing all those trailer doors half-open showing the insides be they empty or loaded? That smacks of "Please mr criminal, don’t murder me in my bunk - just take my load! " rather than “Imagine what I’ll do to you miles from the nearest police station if and when I catch you trying to cut into my curtains?” :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Hands up who’s found one of these in the overhead locker, or under the map flap?

Seen a few posts about cleaning the steering wheel with wet wipes. Do you not find after you do this the steering wheel chews your hands up? I find the dirt and grime gives it a smooth feel

mike68:
Where do they come from? Filthy high viz coat beard and bobble hat.

Boots on the bunk and a talent for damage, smoking in the cab and strangers to soap and water.
Please go and get a job somewhere else.
