Filthy Stinking agency drivers

Whether the previous driver was conscripted, enlisted, bribed, loaned or simply bought for the day makes not the slightest difference, there are those who take a pride in themselves and their work and those who don’t.

I have to clean the windows inside as well as out when i take out a fresh motor, and clean the steering wheel and other controls if the previous attendant was a nicotine addict…after cleaning a smokers truck especially the grime and filth on the used wipes and cloths has to be seen to be believed, hazardous waste standard.

I had to do the same whenever i was on agency.

I don’t like shaving :stuck_out_tongue: And have no time for that as I am busy doing work that you should have done but didn’t. That is why I am there. As for the rest it does not describe me at all :sunglasses:

I forgot that another “Swain & Sons” are still operating in the strood area…

If I am a messy agency driver who then Gets a full-time employed job, do I then become a clean employed driver ?

I rest my case

One is more likley to be “smart and well turned-out” hoping that the firm employing the agency driver actually notices them, and offers a full time job.

Once the FT job has been achieved, the former agency driver then lets themselves go, especially when as “junior” driver (Despite being aged 55+) they are expected to drive the G reg dustcart, where the only thing in the cab without crap all over it is the tax disk side that’s against the windscreen!

Winseer - “I’m only “criminalist” in that I hate criminals wherever I come across them. The colourful metaphor used to describe the said criminal might imply I have something against some race/religion or whatever, but these stereotypes I believe are a part of common speech these days, so should continue to be allowed.
Even on the subject of Criminals, we all use expressions on here like “running bent” which implies a level of homophobia, rather than merely fiddling one’s paperwork/tacho eh?”

Blimey thats a lot of people whom you are going to hate as there are now over 8 million people in UK with a criminal record. Not defending criminals but some really don’t deserve to be criminalised!!!1

Back on subject there are good and bad in both agencies and companies!

A criminal is a criminal by actually being convicted in court. Someone “acting” in a criminal manner is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. Trouble is, most people can’t be arsed to bear witness against such types to get them convicted in the first place!

When was the last time you heard of someone being jailed for stealing diesel with intent to endanger third parties?
(the endangerment might come from threatening the driver, if they should catch them red-handed or perhaps from siphoning the cherry out of the fridge, so the load defrosts, and then poisons someone right?)

Very often, a criminal’s victim might be invited on the “cannot be arsed” ticket to commit another crime to cover the first one up. :frowning:

It’s about time drivers stood up for themselves, instead of worry about the PC brigade. Don’t it make you sad when you drive past a layby, seeing all those trailer doors half-open showing the insides be they empty or loaded? That smacks of "Please mr criminal, don’t murder me in my bunk - just take my load! " rather than “Imagine what I’ll do to you miles from the nearest police station if and when I catch you trying to cut into my curtains?” :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Winseer - Meant to add to above quote that you make a lot of good points however I still find it strange when you have made such good points that you hate 8 million people in the Uk without knowing them, just the fact that they are criminals is enough to hate someone■■? I bet that some people whom you know may have a criminal conviction without you even knowing after all statistics show that nearly 1 in 8 people do have a record!!! Never judge a book by its cover and in hating the criminals as you do it is still discriminatory (forgive spelling)

Where do they come from? Filthy high viz coat beard and bobble hat.

Boots on the bunk and a talent for damage, smoking in the cab and strangers to soap and water.
Please go and get a job somewhere else.

They’re unbelievable. Most of my career was with agency but I agree with you. There was one moron on a job with me who just shoved his orange and apple peel in the drivers door pocket and left his empty milk bottles behind the drivers seat. I got his wagon one day and was disgusted. Gave him a right arseholing at the pump and phoned the agency.

a bit harsh man, some agency guys are brand new…

and some full timers are a bloody disgrace… not just there cabs… in every way.

Don’t suffer from rising damp?

Ok, well, I feel as an agency driver it is a good thing to turn up to work, to an assignment, clean and tidy.

My work boots might be a little bit mucky underneath, but not plastered in mud. Likewise, actually looking like I could spend the day in others company. I do think it does not take much to have a shower before work, with actual soap and all

Shaving is always going to be a problem with me as if I don’t shave for a week it looks like most of you who haven’t shaved for a day, but I do try and keep it short.

Giving a good impression is always a benefit for actually keeping work, and being invited back for more work. If you’re overnighting, then there are enough hints and tips on here to help you survive an overnight in the cab but after more than one overnight it is understandable if you come back unkempt, but that’s at the end of your shift, right?

Dirty hi viz? Dirty gloves? Well they don’t wash well after getting covered in grease from the suzies and unlike company drivers who just get issued with another, I have to buy mine.

As for those, I’ll be polite and call them “disabled” handles - I take them off. Fed up with the things wacking me on the wrist.

Yeah, my HiVis gear does get dirty and if I cant fully clean them then they will get binned and a new one sourced from the agency.

Oddly enough the HiVis vests I have currently don’t actually have the agency name on the back for the agency I’m working for. That usually encourages the agencies to give me new vests

But yeah, euch, suzi greased up :astonished: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

iv done agency when starting out in this game made mistakes to learn the ropes so in general i was a nightmare for the regular driver i guess
