Fed up of some of you truckers

I suppose it takes all sorts to make this world, but Darwins law dictates that someone who lacks even the most rudimentary commonsense, as this happychappy seems to, cannot possibly be able to breathe and walk at the same time.
You would be wisest to simply ignore the poster rather than to expect them to be able to work out something like a train timetable, or to be able to understand anything too technical like roadsense.

HappyChappy:
Ok felt i had to sign up for this site as i am sick to death of other truckers trying to overtake me when they are going at the same speed.
You know what i mean, those PRATTS that sit at the side of you holding all the traffic up without a care for anybody else because it means they have a clear road in front of them. They rely on the fact you will either slow down on a hill, or somebody will need to come on to the motorway before you.
Why cant you just back off a little? And if your the one keeping that person at the side of you, why not be the better man/woman and let the PRATT past.
I have to use the motorway to get to work and travel at least 20 miles down the M6 doing 55/60 mph in the outside lane because every car is trying to get past the PRATT in the middle lane.
YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, AND YOU DO MY HEAD IN.
Before you say i am just a car driver and you are a big tough trucker that owns the road(you dont) i am a class 1 driver with a bit of road sense that sees these things from both angles.
I look forward to the day we can only use the inside lane and it will be the PRATTS you have to thank for it.
Have a nice day.

Ahh another one from Tossco Middlewich :unamused:

Well what can i say except you dont seem like a very happy chappie to me so maybe you should change your name.
Get a life :smiling_imp: :imp:

No its just people that have a go at others for spelling need to be better at spelling thenselves.

Should have been a capitol A in Are

I think you need to apologise to lgamston for jumping down his throat about his spelling

I hate to be pedantic, but I don’t think you used your spell checker when you posted that…

I would respectfully suggest that it should read as follows;

No, it’s just that people who have a go at others for spelling incorrectly should themselves be better at spelling.

Pedantic Gnome

Ah but the thing is i could not care less how people spell unless they have a go at someone else for doing it, then they need to practice what they preach, bored now go look at the cab curtains thread

I take it you’re not going to answer my question then Dafman?

I hate car drivers who sit there at 54 or 55mph so you overtake them they speed up so you pull in and guess want! it all starts again. Pratts in cars more like!

Exactly! You have the priveledge of being able to go in excess of 56mpg, use it and try and keep out of our way. second only to the car drivers, who enter the motorway, sit at 50mph for a couple of minutes, so you decide to pass them, then, them waking up, and sticking their feet down :imp:

whys this post still running  anyone that drives for a living knows the answer :bulb:

in the highway code it actually says to ease off to let trucks pass you if they’re struggling - and why not? I’m sure we’ve all missjudged it at times and ended up stuck in the middle lane :unamused:

Urban myth alert !!! It says NOWHERE in the Highway code that you should slow down in lane one for a vehicle in lane two. Also you cannot be ‘stuck’ in the middle lane in a HGV as you are perfectly entitled to use it .
However, having said that, i’m never to old to learn !! And after a general concensous (by selfish drivers here) i decided that although my limiter keeps me to 53 mph i would back off and let any truck that wants to pull out and pass me. It works a treat now. Lorry behing me pulls out, i hit the brake and slow down, he passes, every truck in lane one for about a mile behind me now pulls out (because i slowed down), result !!! The overtaking truck is now past me, lane one is empty behind me for as far as i can see and lane two has about half a mile of HGV’s all plodding on waiting for me to slow down again !!
Liverpool to Manchester now takes me two hours, lane one seems empty, all i see is a line of trucks in lane two, i’ve hardly seen a car since i started doing it, and when i do they are all in lane three. Looks like its working a treat !!!

i would still like him to explain how i have jumped down igamston’s throat about his spelling…unless its in a different thread

Once again cab curtains

i couldnt be bothered reading all 4 pages i was getting bored but i think your a PRATT and you probably sit in the fast lane up the rear end of the car in front while on your phone just one world (zb) :smiling_imp: :imp: :smiling_imp: :imp:

edited for personal attack mm

Still waiting for your answer happy chappy , how long you been driving ?

Happy Chappy!

When you finally get home from your commute can you kindly provide some responses?

Much obliged to you.

[zb] :unamused:

Personal attack removed. L.

Happy Chappy

I drive mostly a 7.5 tonner unlimited,
and when unladen and under the right conditions
will be flashing my lights trying to get you out of my way in lane 3,
whilst you are too busy glaring at the other wagon drivers :smiling_imp:

Although Happy Chappy’s origional post was a bit confrontational (isn’t calling us all Pratts a personal attack on drivers?) He does have a valid point, we do tend to help clog up out motorways taking ages to overtake…calling people pratt won’t fix it, but we should all get over the fact that some trucks are (slightly) faster than others, and when they have the audacity to try to overtake us, ease off and let them through…I think if we all did this the chattering classes would notice a vast improvement in the way trucks allowed traffic to flow and would start complaining about something else instead of us.
I find myself overtaking and being overtaken every day, I always ease off when being overtaken, partly for my own safety. (I like a clear safety zone around me) But I seldom have the same happen for me when I am the overtaker.
Are we spelling PRATT with two T’s to stop the ZB effect?

Why dont they use the outside lane then?,
The amount of times when in the class 2 vehicle,
i had a car examining my bumper whilst i was overtaking,
yet there was nothing in lane 3. :frowning:

Maybe we should limit all cars to 70mph and watch the carnage :smiling_imp:

Granted, but it ain’t our fault, blame the legislators.

Think you’re a bit naive there J, nothing would stop them moaning about wagon drivers, they would have something else to moan about though - more late deliveries. :smiling_imp:

I’ve been driving back to depot for Morrisons before (working for haulier) and had Morrisons drivers pull out to middle lane purely for the fact that they don’t want to arrive behind me = ■■■■■■■■■■

I’ve been overtaking slow truck up hill only to have other truck excelerate halfway up hill = ■■■■■■■■■

Been stuck behind one truck overtaking another truck on motorway for more than 15 miles = ■■■■■■■■■

Basically what this all adds up to is ‘one-upmanship-■■■■■■■■’, and ‘egotistic fanny’!

If you’re one or two miles an hour faster, after four and a half hours you’re going to save a max of 9 minutes, if you think that saving eighteen minutes in a day is important, you’re all in the wrong job!
Just think of all the extra wages you’ll earn if you do eighteen minutes more work every day!

Oh dear we’re all getting our knickers in a twist here :unamused:

The bloke DOES have a valid point, it’s NOT the fault of the lorry in the middle lane though it’s the idiot in the nearside lane that is at fault & it gets right on my man ■■■■■ :exclamation:

I am coming up a hill going a bit quicker than the lorry in front so I pull out & get 3/4s of the way past & then the hill levels out & all of a sudden we’re neck & neck again, THIS is bad driving on the part of the slower lorry, my response to this is to put my nearside indicator on & hopefully appeal to the other ‘drivers’ common sense, if they back off & allow me to complete my overtaking manouvere then all is well, if not I will bully my way back into the nearside lane & will wipe the flies off their windscreen with the back of my trailer, drastic action you may say but guess what? I couldn’t give a shiney [zb] :smiling_imp: It’s self pleasurers like this that give us all a bad name & I will continue to do this everytime it happens.

I also adopt the same method when some [zb] thinks that he can drive the whole way around a multi lane roundabout in the middle lane instead of moving over into the CORRECT lane as they pass an exit :unamused:

I regularly experience these situations on the M25/A13 roundabouts & the M11/A14 so if you see a silver FH overtaking you & you put your foot down & hold him out in the 2nd lane do not be surprised when you’re ‘cut up’ same applies if you think you can drive around a roundabout in the wrong lane & force me to take avoiding action, I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT, best thing to do is LEARN HOW TO DRIVE PROPERLY then you can avoid the situation in the 1st place & I will treat you like a fellow knight of the road

Language. L. :unamused:
