Hello All
For me it would be these three
S.JONES of Aldridge
George Taylors of Bristol
And my personal favourite Bakers of Southampton
Sadly i believe all three of these firms are no longer running George Taylors to be the latest.
Regards R-JACKO
Does the pics of Jack Watts motor look like G W Holliday or is my memory gone again?
Mark.
Still no-one come up with a pic of Sayers tanker fleet? Oh well, here is my old motor when I worked for Radcliffes, I always thought it looked good when scrubbed-up, but then I’m biased because I had some input on the livery!!
Regards,
Mark.
The “old” Pollocks without a shadow of doubt, the new livery is very bland in comparison.
Take it easy,
David
Harry Lawson of Broughty Ferry used to have a very nice livery and it was finished off with the coach lining another firm was Pilkingtons a county Durham tanker firm whose wagons were always looked well turned out and Silver Roadways ( Tate & Lyle ) looked tidy.

No sadly not,George packed up a few years back now I think he retired.he had a sale one Saturday morning and that was him,I haven’t come across him for yonks so I don’t know what he’s getting up to now! Dennis.
.
I didn’t know George Holiday had passed away.I knew “Hiram” for over 40 odd years he sure was what I would term a “Dyed in the Wool” Penrith Haulier! I sure have had a few good "cracks"and a few pints/drams with him over the years. He painted me a couple of new K.Fell F88s in '76 and he always used to impress upon me never to drive to Glasgow always go by train because them Scotsmen will have you legless then you will get “nicked” next day!!! Me and my manager had a near catastophe in '78/'79 after we’d been at the Kelvin Hall show,I managed to get home in the snow but my mate was absolutley “pie eyed”.The Genis Bros. at Northern Trailers had plied him with very large G&Ts in the hope of an order! what a state and they never got an order either!Happy Days.Bewick.

Obviously Alcoa’s look nice , but why is it rare to see wheels painted on wagons anymore? , i always thought they looked better even in black than the boring silver they all seem to be now
ive always liked smith of denny 2 tone blue and red and drysdale and hayton coultard stuart mcmurchy
an as taylors old livery
