Favourite Liveries

Hello matt watson,
Thats is a excelent livery!!! The modern day Petrol Tankers are so depressing.
I my home county of ■■■■■■■■ there are a few Petrol Storage Depots (Dalston & Workington), and all thats kept these Depots is white ERF ECT tractor units.
It’s great to see something bright on a tanker!!!

Just an observation, the horse shoes are the wrong way up on the Scania! Cheers Bewick.

Hiya Dennis…i was at the Llanduno show with my AEC earlier this year(to wich has a couple of horeshoes on the grill)
this chap came up to me and said looking at the reg on your truck(Rutland) you,ve put the horseshoes on upside
down…I said i thought that the opening should be at the top…he told me on the coat of arms of rutland the horseshoes was with the open part faceing down and all the luck Rutland had run out and was lost forever.
John

Your right John, the open end on a displayed horse shoe must be at the top!!! unless of course you aren’t bothered about winning the Lottery mate!!!Cheers Dennis.PS didn’t Rutland disappear altogether when they re-drew the county bounderies!!

Hi Bewick. I agree, where I come from originally in North Warwickshire they were always the other way up “to prevent the good luck falling out” but in Rutland, where the horse shoe is the county emblem they are always open end down, even on council letterheads, apparently to “prevent the good luck floating out” also it allegedly means the horse will always be moving on up nevr down or backwards. Still looks wrong to me though!

Hello Bewick,
No, I like John Irvings Livery (I don’t want a punch up the arse!!!). I loved there old green livery.
If I had to name one livery that I didn’t like like, it would have to be the Wincanton livery. It’s depressing.

(P.S Bewick, if you know John Irving so well, can you answer me this queston: Why is Irvings only running one lorry now? Its only because they used to run 4 lorries not that long ago).

Well John’s running one more motor than me eh! Marra!! Bewick.

Hello Bewick,
Have a look on the ■■■■■■■■ Companies page at around 8pm tonight.
Its just I’ve got some photos for you.

I have done Marra and there’s “jack ■■■■” on there eh! Bewick.

IMHO Smith of Maddiston had the finest livery,it was miles ahead of it’s time, gave the impression of being a very substantial outfit who knew what they were about! Robsons of Carlisle would probably be my second choice.Bewick.

Hello Bewick,
What about your own livery, eh■■?

Here you are CG ,one i drove through Wigton many times in 30 odd years with this oil company, and yes they are all white now with red tanks, its a shame the good liveries have gone, (a sign of the times) Vic.

Hello v7victor,
Where were you going with the tankers?
■■■■■■■■ Gill
P.S Yes, I do remember them coming through on the bypass in the 1990’s.

Hiya CG,all over,we used to deliver fuel to just about everyone up there,to name a few Stoddarts , and a garage oppisite where you turn down to the rugby club, the old works on the right near the station,Carrs Silloth, the bed co on the airfield ,Viv ****** same place, and Harrisons at Waverton,to name but a few.Vic.

Hello v7victor,
I know all those locations very well (there all in my ‘Neck of the Woods’).
Did you ever (on your ■■■■■■■■ Runs) go to the BP Depot at Dalston or Workington? Its just I sometime used to the lorries of the company you worked for at Workington’s BP Depot on hte Dock.
