So who was it who built the country into the place which it was at the start of WW1 and WW2 bearing in mind that the natives in the ‘commonwealth’ were still mostly natives in their own lands not here at that time.For example most British buses,at least in and around London,used British drivers and conductors at that time.So what changed after WW2 assuming that wage rates refelcted economic growth and retail prices in real terms.The clue is they didn’t.

No one needs credit if they’re earning enough to buy stuff for cash and who could afford a house without a mortgage.The only social change in this country after WW2 was opening up our labour market to the commonwealth and then the policy of using wage restraint to deal with price led inflation during the 1970’s in addition to joining the EU which opened the markets up to massive levels of imports.

It’s demise was a mixture of many things though, arrogance and a lack of adaptation or modernisation being one of the primary reasons. It’s what allowed us to be overwhelmed so quickly by competition from those with cheaper operating costs and more modern, organised infrastructures.
To many old schoolers sit there with the rose tinted glasses and chip on there shoulder blaming everyone else but while they were sat in Dover in crapped out derv swigging old tags and shagged out tilts wi bellys full of cherry the world passed them by. The industry and it’s dynamics changed along with customers demands. The biggest killer of the business was it’s own arrogance and refusal to change. We all saw it coming but few chose to adapt.

Whats with the polish bashingIf it wasnt for the poles there’d be alot more businesses going down the pan, the “indigenous workforce” are nothing but a pain in the backside, ok so not everyone is like that but most are. My mate use to have people calling up for driving jobs and would openly admit to him that they didnt want the job but had to call to keep their benefits, my parents have recently had two english people start for them, then after a few days both have turned round and said the few hours cleaning they were doing is to hard ffs! So really employers have no option but to employ foreigners.
If it wasnt for the imigrant labour, employers would be force to pay proper rates of pay , instead of ripping them of ,treating them like ■■■■■, and putting profits before EVERYTHING ELSE?
THE “INDIGENIOUS WORKFORCE” kept this countrys industries going for many many years ,earning a days pay for a days work. This was all before we became the easy entry hole for every other EU countrys spongers, criminals, and yesmen who will do anything asked of them by an empolyer,so they can send wages back to help their own country’s economic short comings ,this island would be a far better place to live and trying to make a honest living if the labour market was not full of agency imigrant labour…l.fact

So you get rid of the social security system and shut down the NHS and then make everyone make private provision then you pay them all their contributions to date back.All of this done at current levels of unemployment and current trade deficit in manufactured goods and fuel and the current minimum wage or even less.Then you use the current product of the service industry sector to more than cover the current trade deficit and pay back the existing and future levels of debt.That sounds just like what Cameron is trying to do already to me with the exception that he has no intention of paying back everyone’s contributions to date for the non existent social security and NHS.

There’s a very simple solution that everyone has overlooked, and it would turn UK finances around overnight. If every corporate company/individual had to pay tax here on what they earnt/took here instead of being allowed to go through offshore ruses to avoid paying tax that would probably solve any public sector deficit we have.
And anyway for the blokes who like euro tramping they’ll jump at that job. Its an ok wage, but them guys that do that work usually just like to do it. They can be on their own for long periods of time without interacting with to many people, the people they do interact with they don’t understand them half the time. Its a win win situation. I always find Euro trampers a bit wierd anyway. I mean what normal person wants to spend weeks or even months away in a truck ?
