One of the things that boils my ■■■■ about the UK being in the EU is the millions we pay daily to subsidise what were the backward new members of the club, ie. Poland,Bulgaria, Romania etc etc by improving their infrastructure then they send all the cheaply obtained trucks and labour over here to ruin our industries, so in a way we are paying twice for them to become civilised and move up from just owning a horse and cart !!
‘‘Assuming an in vote, especially one based on a narrow Scottish margin’’
Where did you get that idea from ? Nicola Sturgeon !! that’s just her opinion not necessarily the word on the street, but Scotland is so far from leafy Surrey you probably can’t hear it
Winseer:
The cat among the pigeons is set by a snap election being called however. If Cameron loses, and we indeed vote OUT - he’ll go to the polls early as a way of “resigning”
There are only two ways in which an early general election can be called:
If there is a vote of no confidence in the government from MP’s, or if two thirds of MP’s call for an early general election.

To be fair Bewick is a bit nearer and even he thinks the word from across ‘the wall’ is that the Scottish want to trade Cameron for Merkel.

A lot of things worry me. What if the company decide they don’t want to be here in the UK? What if they cut down on the contracts they have? Plus I’m about to buy a house so having a secure job is a priority for me. I honestly now don’t know if we would be better off outside the EU. Is there any guarantee that we would be able to secure trade deals? and at what cost? Lots of talk about having to keep the free movement of EU citizens if we wanted trade with the EU.
All companies exist to make a profit in one way or another. As a large Nordic shipping company they will be no different. Whilst there is a profit to be made from their business in the UK they will trade here. The EU and the arguments for and against it may be political . . . but business is business.
Radar, it’s not for me, or anyone else, to tell you how to vote, but please don’t believe everything in the media, or on forums like this.
Do your own searches, find information your own way, ask awkward questions that you feel are relative to your life, and then make your own decision.

Let’s just say that assuming Fox and Davis have the sense to go for the nuclear option against Cameron thereby destroying his majority,I don’t think that Sturgeon and Corbyn will try to prop up the resulting dead duck government.IE with any luck we’ll end up with a general election which takes both Labour and the Cons towards a more Nationalist line hopefully with a lot more representation for UKIP which reflects its present numerical electoral popularity in the country.

If your company has anything to do with a British company that actually manufactures something I would be worried they took the site to a cheaper Eu country if we stay.
And this won’t happen if we leave?
No because if we leave we then have the right to impose trade barriers based on the idea of maintaining trade balance which we can’t do if we stay.
As I posted on the other thread according to Article 8 of the Lisbon Treaty, as a reciprocal agreement, we/they won’t be allowed to:-
“The Union shall develop a special relationship with neighbouring countries, aiming to establish an area of prosperity and good neighbourliness, founded on the values of the Union and characterised by close and peaceful relations based on cooperation.”
And according to the World Trade Organisation we/they won’t be allowed to:-
The WTO’s rules outlaw punitive tariffs, this means that under international agreements any attempt to punish the UK with increased tariffs would be in contravention of international agreements.

I do not think the Scottish voter will accept the blatant southern lies like they did on the last referendum vote when it comes to June 23rd.
Scotland could end up in a right pickle; all the YES voters from UK independence referendum may vote to exit Europe in hope that an exit from Europe will spark a new independence from the UK referendum. Unfortunately the vast majority of the UK will vote (quite sensibly) to stay within the EU. This will make Scotland the only part of the UK who appears to be wanting to exit Europe.
Sturgeon will use this result as a demonstration that the will of the scottish people is out of keeping with the rest of the UK. a new referendum will be called and Scotland could find itself not only out of the UK but also out of Europe … true independence and an almighty mess with just our oil revenues to prop ourselves up on.

I stopped reading newspapers some years ago
I find social media more accurate and truthful
I must admit there’s lots of anti EU sentiment on social media
It’s a place where government and the main stream media can’t censor

No, if there is an exit vote there won’t be a vote of ‘no confidence’ there will be no general election … Boris will take control of the reigns, Boris will be in charge, we will be led by a loon at the moment of greatest uncertainty … LOL

Dolph; apart from the money the UK pays in to the EU what other reasons do members of the EU have for wanting us to stay in?
I don’t know actually, I can tell you that most continental EU countries want UK out of EU any way. UK never wanted to be part of the EU as an ultimate United States of Europe plan. Always wanted the best for herself and never cared about EU core idea. Never sign for Schengen, refuse to adopt the Euro, continue with its stupid hypocrisy - twisting EU for better deal and opting out from whatever wanted. The latest wave of hate against Eastern European migrants, who are no more then 1,5 million, but never the less are used for excuse about every British problem. When in fact the main reason all of EE to be in EU is UK Government doings, who pushed against western European countries refusal into accepting us all in.
Pure economics, the neutral experts indicate we will be 1.2% worse off, GDP, by 2030.
I think I can live with our country being potentially 0.08% worse off per annum, over the next 14. My decision is based purely on our social needs. For me, it’s out. Simply because we need to stand a little more isolated in this topsy turvy world whilst it figures out where the funk it is going.

The Immigrant issue you say the UK has seems endemic

Firstly there would obviously only be the need for that ‘nuclear option’ ‘if’ the pro Cameron side wanted to make a fight of a Davis/Fox led coup against him.
Assuming the mood of the country shifts to leaving the EU and Davis and Fox lead and win an anti Cameron revolt why would the Cons prefer Boris to either Davis or Fox. Bearing in mind that Boris has shown no real anti EU and/or anti Cameron stance. As for ‘greatest uncertainty’ I see it as the ‘certainty’ of putting us where we were on the world stage pre membership where the facts suggest a more economically and politically powerful country that was democratically accountable to its electorate.

Firstly ‘if’ we leave we can use the Lisbon Treaty for its rightful purpose of toilet paper.
While if the WTO means anything then the EU obviously wouldn’t be able to blackmail the EFTA countries with trade ‘sanctions’ if they don’t comply with the EU’s bs demands.Nor would US vehicle imports be subject to massive tarrifs.Assuming they are allowed in at all regards EU type approval rules.Nor would the US have been able to ( rightly ) impose massive tarrifs on cheap Chinese steel imports. On that note since when did the WTO trump national sovereignty.
