are you drivers or just new to the game and need to moan and groan about everyone elses driving ? get on with the job
thread after thread on here these days is from noob drivers armed with there new cameras trying to make out other drivers are worse than them
you sound like a bunch of old women.
Put your head in the sand by all means.
But then don’t be surprised when your wages drop because your bosses believe any idiot can drive a truck
Erm… Wasn’t that what’s already happened as of 2008?
If yard bosses went to jail every time some trucker employed by them killed someone - there might be more of a push to employ the elites on top dollar, instead of any old nob with an (already endorsed) C+E licence.

LGV drivers who use the width restricted lanes on road works are a credit to the profession especially in relation to spatial awareness and knowing the size of their vehicles,I struggle with the bloody LGV lanes some days, especially the ones on on the A14 currently.
+1
Eastbound is now pretty wide but the proper drivers get in the 7.5t limit on the westbound knowing this was the old eastbound lane and avoiding all the hassle with the kettering onslip.
No cameras capable of judging size so its a doddle.
Theres also a little trick at Catthorpe to use the M1 outside lane then cut in for the M6 that saves me loads of time, haven’t met a driver yet that hasn’t whimpered out of me swinging left into their cab.
Ho hum DD if you knew some of the “Cockney or Paddy geezer” tipper drivers I’ve worked over the years just maybe you’d have soiled your undercrackers if you’d messed with them!
vwgpmk2:
On my way down the M1 on Friday between J29 and 28 I was in the middle lane overtaking a slower truck a car was in front of me doing the regulation 50 in the roadworks looked in the mirror and there was eddies finest in the outside lane trying to pass me.
At the last count that’s three offences, use of outside lane of motorway, exceeding speed limit and ignoring width restriction. Not to mention he had one foot up on the dashboard.
So to the driver of Cindy Lou Registration Removed you are a ■■■■, people like you give us a bad name.
And if you want proof I have it on my dashcam.

Poor driver. Maybe he had exceptional circumstances and needed to get there quickly, Possibilities are endless and i know i wouldnt use the 3rd lane unless something serious had happened. Maybe hed had a call and his missus was in labour. Maybe his firstborn child had been in a RTA and he was in a rush to A&E. Maybe just MAYBE his 26 pallets of coca-cola was gonna be 3 minutes late because everyone was doing 49.8MPH in the middle lane…
You shouldnt judge someone on one action youve ever seen him do. in 2 of the 3 instances above i would probably use the outside lane myself. If it didnt adversely affect you and didnt cause you harm or intimidate you (maybe the big truck passing you was intimidating and you feared for you life?) then id say crack on and dont worry about it fella.
P.S. yes i do actually drive for stobarts, and yes most days i enjoy my job (probably because mostly i`m not in the UK )

I understand what your saying and maybe the driver did have a place to be. However if indeed he did have one foot on the dash that doesn’t sound like a man desperately trying to get home to a love one or an A&E department.
Sorry, just trying to see it from both sides.
One thing I notice on this forum is how drivers like to critisie others but haven’t the balls to man up and have it out there and then. Maybe its due to my 10 year gap but rest assured if anyone ■■■■■■ me off on the road I will and have stopped my vehicle and discussed it there and then.
This can lead to a congenial chat and shake of the hand or full handbags at 50 paces but I know that I’'m quite capable of causing a load of trouble for any of these numpties who think the size of their vehicle bears any resemblance to their own ego…
Just maybe I’m out of my comfort zone but theres too many posts on this forum whimpering on about bad driving and telling tales and cries of oh dear he has undertaken me.
Lets keep the gaffers / authorities out of it and deal with the situation like men not whimpering women telling tales.
Anyone who threatens to report another driver to their boss is no better than a turd I have accidently trod in.

Going South on the M6 there is the average speed cameras in the road works.
Most drivers are unaware that you can use lane two heading to the toll road then turn off at the split before the toll to carry on using the M6.
Keep your gob shut about things like that, we dont want everybody doing it

Just sayin…
Agree with you up to a point Dave, but with dash cameras today it can and does go ■■■■ up for you. A guy I know that had worked for the same co for 30 years got out to confront a bad driver unaware of the guy’s camera, and got sacked for road rage and bringing the firm into disrepute when the guy sent the footage to his firm (minus footage of the event that instigated it)
I myself jumped out at lights to have a go at a guy only to find it was a woman, I backed right off when I realised, but still got reported. Maybe best just to raise above it nowadays.
Love the guy who got into a hole by admitting to hogging the middle lane then attempting to back pedal, classic
“1” How to drive through road works correctly, in both car and truck.
Wots the bloody hurry so many seem to have what with steaming through road works in ANY lane FFS?
Sit behind a supermarket truck 2-3 seconds in front of you. Knowing they are doing 50 flat out, means you can keep a steady speed through the roadworks, because the guy in front doesn’t keep speeding to the limiter, and then backing off every few seconds like a normal plebian driver might.
This, would also mean you can safely stay in lane one throughout…
The trouble starts when you get some euro-plated car that can’t do more than 40 pottering along, whilst the TNT, Stobarts, and Tippers steam past you on the limiter in the middle lane.
I wasn’t in the wrong, and I’m still not going to be having an accident here. So what if I find myself slowing down to 40 for the last 2 miles of roadworks?
No one behind me should get uptight at me slowing down to 40, seeing as I’m in staying in lane one throughout…

by naming the lorry involved, this can easily be traced back to the driver

I once had two trucks tailgate me on the M25 when I was driving my car - first one an 18-tonner, second a 32-tonne tipper. Both flashed their lights at me to tell me to get out of the way (I was in the middle lane, doing 50mph through roadworks). I put my hazards on to tell the jerks to back off. The first overtook me on the left, the other on the right (which of course was the outside lane he wasn’t entitled to use). I was driving a little Kia Piccanto and I suspect the drivers saw a small car and assumed that the driver was a woman. I reported the 18-tonner driver to his company; couldn’t do with the tipper as it was anonymous.
IF THERE WAS ENOUGH ROOM FOR HIM TO UNDERTAKE YOU THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN PLENTY OF ROOM FOR YOU TO GET ON THE INSIDE LANE
DID THIS NOT OCCUR TO YOU
Jamieg:
Why should agencies and employers care about you when you have that attitude?
What “attitude”? I don’t care how you or anyone else drives or works, aslong as you don’t impact on my life. What annoys me is sad interfering jobsworths (see “Jobsworth” thread for examples) who can’t keep their noses out of things not concerning them.
How about this. Rather than ignoring bad drivers try be open to educating and learning from one another’s mistakes.
I get stuff wrong, if seen by others, bosses or colleagues it will be brought to bear and learnt from. That way we all do better.
There is a difference between a one off mistake that due to number of miles done is bound to happen, and repetitive bad driving.
If the repetitive stuff isn’t addressed then the consequences can often be quite serious.

Should really say that i was in the middle lane doing 50mph according the the speedo in the car, So in reality you where doing only 43-45mph hence why the HGV drivers under/overtook you,(They have a calibrated odometer fitted so where trying to do the limit of 50mph) why did you not change lanes to the inside lane or is that only for trucks these days ? I get it all the time in the poxy road works that are on nearly every motorway and A some roads,
No wonder the road networks are little more than a car park, middle lane hoggers doing under the speed limits add to them those who seem to be unable to maintain a steady speed and distance from the vehicle in front (usually a car) and you get gridlock UK, little wonder why HGV drivers get impatient Oh and IMO these managed motorways are not there to ease congestion they are there to make money a revenue generator and nothing else, i see that the M20 and M25 has speed cameras active 24/7 regardless of if the overhead gantry’s are active or not
