Drivers CPC ... how we all getting on?

Juddian:
2 sessions so far.

Company pays for it and its an easy day sitting on your arse instead of punching up the road, we have a bit of a laugh and drink gallons of coffee.

Haven’t learned a bloody thing thats useful but then it never was about proper worthwhile training, just another little money spinner.

I wonder what the real hauliers will do for lorry drivers when many of the old school drop out next year, soon enough one of the big logistics operators has got to see the light and start to mop up the remaining best with some tempting terms and conditions…will this idiotic CPC give the industry the kick up the arse it needs?

We can only live in hope.

The fines have started

truckingtopics.co.uk/vosadcpcfines.html

and there’s considerable impact on OCRS as well.

Some large fines there.

I said it all along …just a cash cow…costs u to do it costs u if u dont …either way got u by the short and curlys…thank f im not going to, not lose any sleep over it.

The EU directive says “the modern nature [ie, CPC-trained] of the profession of driver should arouse young people’s interest in the profession, contributing to the recruitment of new drivers at a time of shortage”! Yeh, right. As an agency driver with no free training, I’m leaving it to the last moment. Probably book a week after Xmas, when the agency work goes dead. Hoping the training companies’ talk of costs going up next year is sales ■■■■■■■■.

‘… Drivers CPC … I’ve done 7 hours- but have no intention of doing any more if I have to pay so will be hanging up my keys… I’m fed up of all the bureaucracy in the driving game …’

Please consider forwarding that very sound sentiment to your MP: It’s those people that need telling what many of us down here on the coal-face are feeling.

Do it via writetothem.com/ for free: It’s a win-win for the likes of us: It doesn’t sell your details; it will take less than two minutes to do and may very well illicit a response from the MP because the site chases them up to respond!

i keep forgetting about it, best look in to getting some booked.

Company pays us to sit in a room for 7 hours. Got 4 years in already, 1 more and I’ll be sorted to 2021.

Not if he acquired the original qualification by examination…passing his vocational test after the inception of Driver CPC (try saying that after three pints) including Modules Two and Four of the vocational driving test.

In which case his five-year 35-hour training cycles starts on issue of his DCPC card after passing Module Four.

It’s only the ‘grandfather rights’ drivers who have to have it all done by Sept 2014.

“Traitors”. Capital letters. Blimey. Personally, I can’t say no, and risk having no work and no income. This law is an ■■■, but it’s the law. Without the rule of law, we’d be governed by real gangsters.
