I worked with a driver who was laid off from work… by the time he got home on the Friday his partner had emptied the bank account handed their flat back to the landlord and got the deposit and disapeared… leaving him skint and homeless
I dont see where she has asked for handouts or charity from anyone, she has called everyone she can think of to try to get work to get herself back on her feet, one of those people was the editor of the best selling magazine for drivers. His idea was he would ask those who may have the best idea of any vacancies going ( as we all know many are never advertised) and so asked on the biggest website for drivers on her behalf
That to me shows she is making a huge effort to get herself out of this predicament not being bone idle or doing nothing…

Sounds like one of these drivers that would rather be skint than do agency work. Agency work is a fact of life to many in this modern age, like it or lump it, very easy to come by is agency work so what exactly is this birds problem■■?

She was probably dull enough to either take out a mortgage whilst in a HGV driving job or met some bloke after a night in the pub and decided to give up everything to move in with him and he found someone else and told her to do one.

I was in the VERY situation as this woman, and I got on my feet, All due to a SCUM bag BLOKE who abused me, last straw was the kicking in the face and loosing a tooth, I’m not going no further on this BUT HOW THE [zb] DARE you.
The list is endless for places she could be earning a living. Sainsburys and Asda in Dartford should be able to sort her out with enough shifts to keep her going. Iceland Enfield always needs drivers.
To be sure, right now there will be an agency needing a driver in her area who can’t fill a shift and will have to pass it on to another agency.
The co op and farmfoods often unpopular places to work are easy to get shifts.
And what will they do?
She is not a young or vunerable adult. Ill or elderly so she wont get housing…
What she wants to do is work, to earn money fairly to get herself out of the difficulties she is in.
She is an experienced HGV driver, If I was in that situation I think my plan would be similar, try everything I could (including asking on here) to try to find a tramping type job that would at least solve my accomodation problem for 5-6 nights a week while I saved enough out of my wages to put up a bond for a flat.
No we dont know every detail behind this situation but I do think she is trying to find a way out herself, and am really baffled why people think kicking her when she is down for trying is acceptable

I had typed a post suggesting that she may have been in a similar situation to the one outlined by Pink lady trucker but didn’t post it as no doubt some of you would have claimed that it was her own fault.
Only wish I had some positive suggestions for her

Im sorry but there is no reason for people to be homeless and jobless in this day in age.
There are many reasons why some one ends up homeless, I can tell you also, It is a distressing thing to tell a un caring council worker in a cushy office that You are Homeless.
The reams of paperwork, have you contacted the police etc etc.
A friend who I lost contact a few years previously contacted me via FB, and thank to her, I found my feet again, a few weeks to put my life in some sort of order.

On the subject of economic downturn it looks like she probably took out a mortgage whilst in a driving job and we all know how safe driving jobs are top tip, try renting next time, at least the goverment will help you when your out of work 
So you’re saying that the job has never been good enough to base a mortgage on for anyone 
.
The fact is most workers’ jobs aren’t safe in the current economic climate.It’s just that on top of all that the road transport industry is subject to political pressure to reduce a large sector of the industry (long distance haulage) which obviously has knock on effects in regards to job opportunities and job security throughout the industry as a whole.
But anyone who thinks that the government will keep the family home over anyone’s head wether rented or not is deluding themselves.
