If cpc done but card not arrived drive but have your licence with you, they will check by licence number.

I’ve just phoned them and again no mention of a 15 day limit, you can drive until the DCQ arrives.Who did you speak to?
I never spoke to anyone because I couldn’t get through.
It makes not one iota of difference though, the automated message says nothing about 15 days, the email I received from the DVSA, which you’ve seen and said you got the same answer on the phone, says nothing about 15 days and the regulations say nothing about 15 days.
The auto message does not state 1 day or 100 days - that info is obtained from the staff
Donate your wages for that day to NSPCC,Heart Foundation or a charity of your choice.
Only need a cpc if your getting paid.

Would rather give a days wages away than give these leeches 50 quid.

The reason the automated message doesn’t state a 15 day time limit is because there isn’t one.
The reason the email I received from the DVSA doesn’t state a 15 day time limit is because there isn’t one.
The reason the regulations don’t state a 15 day time limit is because there isn’t one.
Do you really think that if there was a 15 day time limit they would simply say you can drive until the DQC arrives and not mention the 15 day limit.
They did not mention say a 100 day limit on your info either so it seems logical that there must be a limit somewhere

The limit is until your card arrives, it’s that simple.
tacograph as u seem to disbelieve anything i suggest u stop spouting of vosa tel nums /web/sites/etc/etc once more if u completed 35hrs and they stop u you will not be fined full stop as they simply do there check and suprise suprise they see u have completed said hours.

I seem to disbelieve anything you say ?
Anyway back to reality, that post is barely readable, what the [zb] have you been smoking
I haven’t mentioned VOSA’s telephone number, website ec’t ec’t, however if you are not able to show your DQC card you are likely to be fined unless you’re waiting for it to arrive.
If you want to have a pop at me that’s fine I couldn’t give a [zb], but wind your neck in and read what’s being posted before running your mouth off

It’s ok for them to say that but at the end of the day it is an actual law that driver’s must carry the card when driving vocationally.
The question was asked a few weeks ago whether someone who’d attended all required modules but still not received their card could still drive commercially after Sept 10th. I answered no, without a card you cannot legally do it. I was then told about a fifteen day grace period by posters here.
Personally I’d rather take a few days holiday whilst waiting for the card to arrive rather than risk a punitive fine 'cos some bloke on the internet was told by some bird on a helpline that it was ok to drive.

Phone the number yourself if you disbelieve what is said on here 0191 201 8112 - its the DVSA hotline who are the enforcers of this
just out of curiosity would there be anyone else apart from myself who 1 hasn’t done a dcpc course,2 has no intention of doing it,and 3,will just carry on cowboying away until caught, then wing it from there?..or am I the only one,its going to be a poxy token fine the 1st time, and a bigger slap on the wrist the next time,it seems pathetic overkill worrying about having a card if you have done the course…surley you cant all be such fannys as not to go to work because you haven’t had your card posted yet? if its not your fault thatyouve not received it,then do what all the desk jockeys do and pass the buck.

That’s exactly the point you seem to be missing Rog! The DVSA hotline are enforcing diddly squat! It’s the DVSA officers who are enforcing it. It’s a Government department ffs! Do you honestly expect them to all be singing from the same hymnsheet? Especially when we consider their predilection for dishing out fines? Get real. No card = no beer money that night for the driver.

Sympathise with your sentiment but that wouldn’t get you off the hook. If you’re driving a vehicle owned by somebody else and it’s doing a job of work for that person or company, as far as the law’s concerned you’re employed, whether you draw a wage for it or not.

Grey area lots of drivers in the charity/voluntary sector have not done it on this basis. Probably protected by the negative PR of VOSA prosecuting, though also.

You do seem to live in some sort of strange world where you believe all enforcement by the police or vosa is correct, consistent and if it isn’t appeal is painless, cost-free and straightforward but anyone operating out in the real world knows this is far from the case. If there were that many people in vosa who really knew what they were talking about it wouldn’t take a week to get responses to really quite straightforward queries and them qualify it with ‘only advice’ either.
ROG:

Because I disagree with your stance on this I have a personal agenda?
Get real Rog. If I had a personal agenda I’d have posted something along the lines of “you post bollox about a fictional period of grace on the say so of some bint in a call centre you’ve never met and you put it here as gospel where many readers who may be in the position described take your every word at face value. The same readers who incidentally will face financial penalties if your advice is wrong, yet you’ll be unaffected as you can’t get your sorry arse out of your armchair to actually go to work”
There, how was that for a personal agenda?
I’ll make you a deal though Rog; if anybody in the UK falls foul and is subject to fines because they’ve attended all their DCPC but have yet to receive their card (which incidentally will no doubt be well reported) well in that case if YOU, yes YOU are prepared to put your money where your mouth is and reimburse them for their fines I will issue a grovelling apology to you and hail you as the new Messiah.
ye ok mr tachograph .your whole post was to do with wether or not a driver can drive without his dcpc as i said for the final time yes you can but if u think u cant gr8 stay at home and wind your own neck in i for 1 sure wont miss ya have a lovely day
