Remember this well, my Dads logsheet said he was in Italy at the time , (I could be wrong because thats braking the law) Ha Ha was paked up in Alkrington, Middleton, Manchester
Sniffy:
I may be asking the obvious, but where did the name originate from ■■
Hi Sniffy The name Crow Carrying Company Ltd came from their promise to deliver it “As the Crow Flies” faster and better, and later changed the Logo with a more updated one

Hi all,
I was the Assistant Fleet Engineer at Crow Carrying Co. (Silvertown) from Dec. 1974 to Dec. 1984 firstly under Ron Ansell then Jeff Braithwaite. Names I remember are, “Handsome Jack” a driver, Alfie Stone driver shop steward, Peter Reves the M.D. and Leon Cogdale transport manager. Please e-mail if I can help with any other memories.
From the front cover of Atkinson’s house magazine:
An earlier issue carried an article about this lorry being driven extensively abroad. It still exsits, but is is a fairly parlous state, having been retired from fairground service several years ago.
It is quite clear to see why Crows moved to widnes, from Greengate, the back wall of British Areospace appears in many of the old photos but the building still stands today
