It was Crow Carrying Ltd, Greengate, Manchester, I lived just round the Corner on Mainway East, Dad worked there for many years, you can see British Aerospace in the background, closed down and they built the M60 right though Crows yard, and they moved to Widnes, often went to work with my Dad, on the sewage contract, until Relicence Tankers took over the contract, then lost it to Effulent Services Macclesfield, and I later Joined Effulent Services Macclesfield, in 1989. Tankers must be in the Blood … “LORDY”

You are right Johnnie owd lad  ,their main place was at Silvertown and in the 70s they had a depot in Widnes IIRC.I think that depot was near Fiddler’s Ferry power station next to a chemical plant called either Bush,Boake and Allen or maybe one of Althingsbrightandbeautiful and Wilson’s places.I used to tip in there from Rainham but can’t recall the name of the place.

Crow Carrying Company Ltd was at Barking London before moving to Silvertown, they also had a depot on Oldham Road, Manchester that closed down in the early 50’s and moved to Greengate Manchester, which later closed down to make way for the M60 (Manchester Ringroad) which is when they moved to Widnes. the Photos are taken in 1959 of the Greengate depot. my Dad worked there in the early 50’s and was still working for them when the Widnes depot closed (Tommy Lord)
