Hi.Found these today while sifting through my mags & books.

Someone asked earlier what happened to Crow Carrying, apparently they were taken over by TDG in 1965 but still continued to run & operate in its own right,by 1970 they had a 250 strong fleet and in 1986 TDG merged them with Reliance Tankers from Sale M/chester, then not long after this they created the first Linkman brand.
FOUND IT :astonished: it was Chris Webb on the Reliance Tanker thread. :unamused:

I think it was contracted to Loders and Nucoline Gunner,I don’t know much about that company but your F7 is a bit newer than this Scammell on the same contract - either one of Crow’s or one of Thomas Allens probably.Allens usually had TAT and a number on the front n/s side of the tank but not on this one.

Cheers Chris Webb, it was Loders and Nucoline, got the picture out at home.
Its definately one of Crows as in the original picture you can just make out Crows name…

Four more of CROW CARRYING. (where do we dig them up from) :sunglasses:  I just love Tankers

JOHN

Yep. Loders and Crooklaan were originally Loders and Nucoline from Silvertown.

Does anybody have a better version then this

Sorry to disapoint you Tommy but the day Crow stopped trading was on the sewage contract and was taken over by Relicence Tankers of Altringham, who then lost the sewage Contract to Effulent Services of Macclesfield, My Dad Tom Lord Drove for all of them on the same contract, and i also called Tom Lord, worked for Effulent Services. Spoke to my Dad and knows Tommy Pennington said Tommy was alot younger then him Ha Ha Cheers Tom Lord (Son of a Crow Driver)

I remember being very impressed by the artwork of a crow on the back of these tankers. In them days,I reckon it must have been done by a proper signwriter and not the vinyl sticker computer jockeys of today.
