â â â â me, this has to be one of the saddest discussions I have ever seen on here.
A bunch of self appointed road captains discussing and photographing other driversâŚtry getting a life.
Look at me, the kettle calling the frying pan black!
But I can see the kerb mirror and I donât need to have my nose on the steering wheel to see to the right on islands ect.
Maybe someone can do a photoshop special of what a truck would look like if the shape of the cab was to create the same amount of vision.
I imagine all the crazy curtain gang would point blank refuse to drive one.
You could also have a letterbox in the passenger door to pass documents in and out of, video cameras to the front and side projecting images onto a widescreen tv in the windscreen, and you wouldnât know if you were at home playing a truck driving game or at work.

Christ has it really come to this? I normally get annoyed by the old boys who say its not like it used to be doing this job but when I see stuff like this I start to think they may have a point. And all this 'what if they wiped out your familyâs just scaremongering tosh. If youâre that concerned for road safety you should have flagged him down, pointed out the error of his ways them performed a citizens arrest on him. Was watching a crappy programme about the police the other day, they stopped a young lad in a van that was a âdeathtrapâ. The officer then told us how dangerous it was, how it could cause an awful accident causing injury or even death, then letâs him drve it home. You could make this daft scaremongering cow pats up.

Ok Luke, does this pontificating mean, that in youâre opinion It is fine to drive an artic with hardly any peripheral vision?

No, itâs not fine. Not sure how you read that into it. But nor is it fine for lorry drivers to go round pretening they are police on the spurious argument they could save someoneâs family bring killed. If drivers want to stop people braking the law join the bloody police.

No you are wrong Luke anybody who drives on any road not just the motorway with vision restricted like that deserves to have their licence taken off them for a few months its utter madness and for anybody to condone that behaviour is as bad as them.Truck makers dont put windows in cabs for fun they are there so the driver can see vehicles pedestrians etc.and
can safely operate the vehicle. I dont have a lot of time for Pc Nairn but I would dearly love to be a fly on the wall if he came alongside that clown. Eddie.

Where did I say I approve of this? I clearly said i dont in the last post. I merely pointed out its not your or my job to catch them.
As you point out, you take photos while driving, so you are aware it takes about 1 second to point and click. Similar to checking your nearside mirror before moving left into a lane. How aware was the Sainsbury driver of a wagon along side him?
Iâd say the man taking the photo, although clearly in the wrong for doing so, had more awareness of what was roundabout him.
Do you agree rob?

Did you not read my question? Where have I said in my post that it is âokâ for the Sainsburys driver to have the curtains pulled across his window? You have accused me of apparently saying this, so point where in my post I have said this or even suggested it.
