I phoned them up today about the online application I sent in
she said she had recived it and a letter was sent out to me today
She said she did not know what the letter said
But it dose not look good dose it
You would think if they where going to offer you a job they would phone you up for an assesment or interview
She said we allways respond to any one who has applied
Maybe I should of changed the poll of this thread from
‘Yes I got a responce’ to ‘yes I got an invertation’
ive put in for jobs over the years and never heard a thing back,then all of a sudden out of the blue you get a phone call offering a start,i know a lad who took 3 yrs to get a start at stobarts ,you may or maynot get a job but id give it a bit of time before i start believing i havent got a interview/job
n.b i was meant to be going tramping id guess 2 months ago,im still waiting,these big firms have there way of doing things,and FAST isnt one of them

Maybe it was your spelling & lack of grammar on the application form

well out of it mate,mass redundancies,depot closures,pay cuts,bonus cuts,paying for fuel,paying tolls etc,etc ,you should be counting yourself lucky ,seriously mate its just life,weve all had knockbacks,just dust yourself down and prove them wrong,in a couple of years time when youve got yourself a decent number,youll be thinking what a lucky escape that was

what,you didnt get a interview at stobarts so you up sticks and left the area,most just say zb um,you say zb the area ,i hope you took the mrs +kids with you ,sorry mate i know its not really something to laugh about,but ive never heard of anyone reacting like this to not getting a job[with stobart],manager told me they were inundated with applications,i hope they dont all react like you as we could have mass migration on a scale never seen in this country

It has not pick up for spring like last year
The jobs knackered and another reseesion will hit up before end of summer
but I ant singing and danceing any more for a pretend job
Im just going to lie on my job seakers aggrement form about the jobs I did not ally for
So what do you think I should do next?
Work in the scrap yard for cash or go and break the law by not paying my taxes and under cutting everyone ells working on the black market
At the moment stobart running different type of scheme.
You can get job with them pretty easy in 2 different ways
Way #1
They are replacing their irish base fleet so all trucks going back to UK
Buy 2007-2008 used stobart truck at around 14k and sign contract for 5 days work
Way #2
All driving jobs are on offer 24/7 at number of agencies all you have to do is to find one that offer stobart job, go for driving exam if you pass you have “temporary” (for years) job with stobart via agency.
As far as I know they are running Agency Employment Scheme and thats the only way to get job with stobart at the moment, I believe they deal with agencies to reduce drivers working rights and job stated as temporary placement so they have better control over your employment matters.
My mate working for them for the last year under temporary position via agency full time.

AMAZING,you say theyll only take you on as a temporary agency driver,yet theyve just employed fulltime drivers,there putting lists of o/t shifts up to try and get the employed drivers to work them so they dont have to use agency,if theres a shift,time you specifically want at short notice there only too happy to tipex the agency out and put you in,it wasnt long ago at a cpc course the d/t was nigh on begging us to work extra hours,a casual driver wasnt given a shift,found out agency was in,rang up a ,■■■■ hit fan and he was told to ring if it happened again,and theyd sort it.
maybe its a depot /division thing,but it seems really strange to me ours want there own drivers doing the work[cheaper],orders from above,and then you mates saying the depot he work at only want agency

Full time job, decleared tax and every thing

Get a grip boss driver by the sound of it your about 14 years old. I wouldn’t let you drive a truck as you sound as if you would drive it into a ditch if you had a bad day, get some professional help ASAP

im sorry but your WRONG,you say theres no work on agency at stobarts,how come theres always agency in,i see them with my own eyes every day, i know alot of them ,im sorry but i think youve become bitter +twisted about not getting a job and are now comming out with any old rubbish,there are agency working at stobarts and that is a FACT
