You found Owt yet col ?

hiya dave, yes i am now on the containers with wincanton based at maltby tramping. and yes i love doing boxes.

Bud143:
Stobarts are based at tesco at Goole and do all the work out of there.**Think the haulage has gone from Sherburn but the warehouses are still used.**Your rite about the planner /driver thing but they couldnt run a ■■■■ up in a brewery there. To many of the planners havent a clue about trucks and anything to do with them. They look at a an b and think of a time but then you get silly times like they give you 8 hours to get from Goole to Livingstone!I just thought they had to many jobs coming in and to many trucks to deal with all at once

Sherburn was still there last week.

I applied back in 2007 though! And got the job! Would I recommend them? For a newbie YES!! But always be looking to move on!

My mate will be looking forward to three days learning how to couple a trailer n unit  hes only been at it 27 years :unamused: :unamused:

The trainer will soon suss out a know all!!! The training is to learn ‘the Stobart way’ and like it or not they PAY you to do it that way. Many don’t and treat the ‘Stobart’ way with contempt…these soon leave lol.

Is Stobart some sort of cult?

Make of it what you will.

It’s 2 days. You get a company induction and 2 days CPC covered. If your mate’s been doing it for 27 years then he won’t do anything that might make him miss the king pin will he.

Are you allowed to apply for other posisions in the company while working for them at the same time

i know some whove managed to get transfers to other depots but there normally the ones there glad to see the back of   ,theres also the ones who have tried umpteen times to get a transfer and failed, theyve ■■■■■■ the managment off so now its payback time :exclamation: :exclamation:   .
i.m.o.h.o if youre quiet, just turn up and do the job, cause no problems is very unlikely you would get a transfer as they dont want to loose those types of drivers,if your the noisy type, everythings a problem, spend more time up managers office bending his year, say NO to every job youve a very good chance of getting a transfer, maybe not to another depot, more likely the dole office :exclamation: :exclamation:

hi i have a interview at the stoke depot tomorrow, j15 m6, can anyone shed any light on what pay is etc and what work they operate etc, do they run international out of there, thanks…

Take comfy boots, the walk between the transport office and the trucks is a good one, especially if you have faults to report etc…

Pay is well documented on here, you’ll be offered £7.20 / hr + allowances and bonus’. £13 a day meal allowance, and £5 a day driving bonus based on scores on your isotrack system.

I think you get extra before 6 in morning and after 6 at night, weekends pay a bit more, can’t tell you the N/O money (if you’re tramping) but I’m sure ady1’s got it listed somewhere.

You’re on £7.20 for 12mths, so some of his figures will be slightly higher I think.

£13 a day meal allowance lol can’t see that , morely to be like £3 lol

A pound an hour for nights! And yes! £13.00 a day meal allowance! They don’t want you cooking in the cab! £22.50 nightout allowance! Good Luck!

Is the two day induction just an excuse to not pay full wages for the first two days of your professional work after 20 years on the road already? :frowning:

I phoned them up today about the online application I sent in
she said she had recived it and a letter was sent out to me today
She said she did not know what the letter said
But it dose not look good dose it
You would think if they where going to offer you a job they would phone you up for an assesment or interview

She said we allways respond to any one who has applied
Maybe I should of changed the poll of this thread from
‘Yes I got a responce’ to ‘yes I got an invertation’

As for the application.

Do You Smoke?

Answer Occasionally or Recreationally

If you look at the basic money of £7.20 and add another quid an hour from your meal allowance it isn’t so bad, neither is a fiver a day for using your isotrak properly.

It might be a bull carp job, but it isn’t the only one, having worked for DHL for a very short period, the best bit of fun then was threatening to punch the gay search guard if he rubbed your nuts just one more time
