But seeing as the limit is now 60 on a D/C whats careless about it?
Thinking about it what did he get done for, speeding or waving

Waving at the camera with both hands off the steering wheel, at first he thot it was a joke and didnt bother replying, about 6 weeks later another letter asking who was driving so he called the number and found out that it wasnt a joke, he was gonna fight in court till his soliciter told him that if he did he would prob get fined about 300 quid and get the max 6 points on his licence and to count himself lucky that it wasnt dangerous driving he was getting done for.
If the evidence I’ve seen today is anything to go by then I reckon that the new limit is taking some time to filter down. Been stuck a few times behind empty wagons doing bang on 40, but hey, I’m hourly paid so it didn’t twist my melons too much.
I did however manage enough clear space to set the camera at Barrowby hill on the A52 off twice today!
I pulled out of MK, up the A5 towards Towcester & looked forward to doing 50 (legally) & promptly got stuck behind a Van doing 43.
BLOODY WHITE VANS [emoji1]
I’ve bought the latest T and D mag and there’s no mention of the increase in there, and I don’t recall seeing it confirmed in any other magazine previously.
The elderly haven’t upped their speed around here that’s for sure.

Check the post; it was MMTM so it probably didn’t happen anyway apart from in his dreams.

Doesn’t surprise me. Was talking to a driver from a well-run and long-established local firm yesterday, and he knew nothing of it. Hasn’t exactly made front page news in the papers.

Yeah i was passing the time while getting tipped talking to another driver and he had no idea the limit had gone up, he wouldnt believe me until i showed him on my phone, coming up from Carlisle last night i did laugh at the big sign on the motorway just before the A75 split reminding you the scottish speed limit hadnt changed

I don’t mind anyone keeping to the speed limits it’s just those sitting there with a wry smile on there faces knowing the are just holding people up for the sake of it then come Friday they are up with the rest of em that pee me off . But what pees me of just as much is the morons that call people heroes just for cracking on with there jobs if it’s safe to do so . I also think most of these people that are ■■■■ about speed are the new breed of people coming into the industry from other walks of life having been laid off because they have been so inificiant in previous professions that thay or there jobs where no longer viable . Now don’t get me wrong I have days when I dawdle I have days when I crack on but on the days I dawdle if there’s trafic behind me il up it a bit until I can give em room to pass but on days I’m cracking on il sit patiently until it’s safe to pass and hope they are professional enough to give me the room to pass
It’s all good you saying about crack on when there’s traffic behind you but what about drivers like me, I’ve got roadsense in my truck the bosses know what road your on and what speed your doing speeding is a strict no - no and continued speeding is a disciplinary I’m not losing a good well payed job so bellends like yourself can rush around for brownie points
+1

Well i went over the 66 to Penrith and back and cant say i noticed any difference, only thing i did do was let it run past the camera van at 58 on the dual section at Brough, i felt very pleased with myself and almost wanted to wave at the camera operator as i went pastMy mate did that in his, 3 weeks later in dropped a letter requesting the drivers details, he got a 60 quid fine and 3 points for careless driving
Got off lightly compared to this clown.
If I wasn’t a member on here, and hadn’t been north of the border last week, I’d have seen nothing about it at all.
Scots had it on nearly every matrix sign saying that the England and Wales limit was due to change, or that the HGV limit for Scotland would remain the same.
I’ll have to fire up my pc tomorrow and see if there’s an update for my snooper.

What did the copper get?
I used to drive a 12 tonner (mainly) before I got my job on artics. I drove that thing everywhere on the limiter except past speed cameras. Took me a while before I realised that I wasn’t “Star Driver” and I was actually the only knob putting my licence at risk, tipping on break etc, to get the job done and get back… Only to be given an equally crap run the following day.
Yes I had the newest, biggest, bestest and fastest motor on the yard. But I was earning way less than the “Hang the job out” boys.
I’m now limited to 52. I’m in a lovely comfy motor, I’m way less stressed, and I can earn 3k a year extra by hitting my fuel bonus. I’m certainly not in a rush anymore.

Didn’t see anything at Howdens and they usually put something on the noticeboard in the drivers lobby. Half the drivers knew about it, some had heard about it but didn’t believe it.

Yeh that is exactly how it is mate , but most are to dumb assed to see it, and the boss won’t say anything as he is quids in and the driver takes all the risks so he wins both ways.
The other thing is you say about the ‘hang the job out boys’ You say it as if it is the only other option, and is used often by a lot on here to justify being a ’ tear my arse off ’ type of prick. (not including you in that)
It does not need to be an either/or situation, as there is another and better option than the other 2, that is do the job at a steady safe and legal pace, that aint hanging it out, it’s doing it properly and professionally… a concept evidently hard to grasp by a lot on here.
