Newbie question here I was on the a1 just before the Dumbar asda roundabout on the 70mph duel carriage way and I got flashed I was sitting at 54 was I in the wrong for doing that in the 70 zone■■? Don’t slate me just a simple question please
Was there a speeding car going in the opposite direction? Maybe it wasnt you who triggered it?
There was a car going the other way but not sure if it was speeding… It just baffled me as I done that same run for 10 days down and back up and it only flashed me on the last day

Brake don’t approve of anything the sad pathetic muppets!
Must be the worst self appointed twunts of a charity I’ve ever heard of!
No idea of real world but they get listened to by another set of muppets in parliament ! God help anyone motorised!!
The woman who set brake up, had her mother killed by an out of control lorry that overturned and landed on her mothers car.
The lorry had defective brakes.
Her husband was also killed by a half wit lorry driver overtaking on a rural road who was speeding.
Hence the name brake.

I think even the hardest-hearted amongst us would have to feel sympathy for someone who’s suffered that much. no mention is made of this on Wikipedia or on their website though.
AFAIK Brake was set up with the best of intentions (to improve safety) and does a lot of good and worthy stuff, but sadly it seems in recent years to have morphed into an anti-vehicle pressure group.
So does this mean I can now do the A14 on the limiter past Cambridge? Normally I’ve done the speed limit there and been overtaken a lot. It’s an average speed camera area there.
It’s not much but it means I don’t need to slow down on the hills as much to keep it dead on 50 GPS-MPH

If its NSL with no other restrictions in place you can crack on drive, as I’m limited to 52mph (the company I work for like to help me toss the job off a bit) I too will be riding the neutral rollercoaster and getting her up to 60mph for a change.
Well not so much a change as I have always done this but dont tell anyone on here…
Another good section for coastin shenanigans is by the 7.5t outer lane restriction between 6am and 8pm around Welford, also around the A12 has a good white knuckle ride bit.

I’d like to say the same, but my company haul us into the office for a talking to if we allow our 56mph restricted vehicles to go over 56mph.
“But the speed limit is 60mph” I’d protest.
“Doesn’t matter” they reply. “The law says the vehicle is restricted to 56, and 56 it shall do. Now stand up straight and pull your pants back up, you’ve an RDC queue to join!”

I wonder if all the supermarket lorries will do 50mph. I bet they wont. I do agree that some roads are not sutable for 50mph and vise versa like a17 or a47 where you can see the other side of the linconshire. but its not a target its a limit. Do it where its safe to do so.
I wonder if they will get their speed limiters sorted out so the lorries on 52 will go faster,my guess is not as they originally done it to save fuel,i drove an argos lorry that was rented to homebase Swindon for their peak period, speed limited to 50mph,done my nut in going so slow, had to put on the back of the trailers LIMITED TO 50MPH so others would know, and as you say do the 50mph where its safe, just common sense
ahh I’ll just ■■■■ him off on here and type slower then
Sod off you 2 I’m paid and they still owe me 13 days holiday from last years allowance
Physio on the 10th then consultant on the 15th hopefully back on the road 16th
I never knew breaking through the ball at the top of the humorous would cause so much chuffin pain and agro
Could you humor me with the details Nick? Was this a work place injury?
Well i went over the 66 to Penrith and back and cant say i noticed any difference, only thing i did do was let it run past the camera van at 58 on the dual section at Brough, i felt very pleased with myself and almost wanted to wave at the camera operator as i went past

My mate did that in his, 3 weeks later in dropped a letter requesting the drivers details, he got a 60 quid fine and 3 points for careless driving
