Also, all Stobart drivers should be banned from commenting on all topics except the ones with “Stobart” in the title and leave all the rest to the real drivers.
Because this is the only driving job I’ve done? Get a grip you roaster.
Obvious troll was obvious, was it not? Obviously not.
I too do not get what the constant Stobart bashing is about, it can only be jealousy. One of, if not the most successful haulage companies in the country. I would think anyone who gets to work for them feels they have achieved something.
Its the same sort of mentality that sees a nice expensive car purposely scratched whilst parked in the street simply because the scratcher is jealous he cannot afford one himself.
If they had a depot closer to me I would certainly be chasing them for some work, although I know they have a preference for ex service men/women. I feel that a 90 mile round trip is too much.

I really don’t get the issue with stobart drivers at all why aren’t they proper driver’s some of them have been there and done it and now work for stobart s I think the issue is there is a lot of jealousy New wagon every couple of years no hassle decent money…

I suppose that would depend on what your definition of “decent money” is. How much are Stobart’s drivers on? Isn’t it around £8p/h? Maybe a little less?
If you think that’s decent money then you’re more stupid than I originally thought.

This is a joke, right? Surely this is a joke?
Can’t you mention Stobart’s on here (even as a joke) without all the Eddie Spotters coming out to valiantly defend their honour?
Yes less. Don’t let it bother you, pleb. Back to the A9…

Base rate may not be high but Stobarts have obviously taken advice and pay in a very smart way giving the driver maximum benefit whilst paying minimum tax.
I understand their full time drivers are happy with what they get.
It would certainly be inline with, if not better than current industry standard.
Off Topic, but I love it when contraflow and Farnboro are on, because I could look at that smoking monkey and dancing bear all day, who was the guy who had the monkey that came down from the tree and pulled the dogs tail ■■ classic.
Sorry back to forum…

Anybody who speeds on any road above the speed limit is a complete and utter knob.
Go on try and change my opinion, bet you can’t…PATHETIC
That includes the knobber OP on DC’s.
When matrix signs say 20mph and there is a clear motorway ahead that you can see for about 3 miles, do you slow down to 20■■
The matrix sign is only advisory the new ones with the red circle are speed limit signs, I am assuming FB is meaning the matrix sign so why would you do 20 when there is a clear road in front of you. The maths just don’t work out though, there are so many fantastic and amazing alleged lorry drivers on here but so many idiots driving then in real life.
The new gantries with speed cameras on the back show limits in a red circle, the speed cameras are activated to this limit after 60 seconds of the sign being displayed.
Obviously as pointed out the number with flashing amber lights are advisory only and no I would not slow down to 20 to pass them, the new ones with red circles and speed cameras, yes I would
Back to stobarts for a moment it is not the hourly pay it’s how they manage everything else, I used to work for Salvesens on fridges the hourly pay 9 years ago was 7 50 but at the end of the year working nights I was on 40.000 and one driver was having to find out about super tax.
Back to the A9, it is a nice drive though.
I agree with a lot of that, but please realise some of us have worked elsewhere, have got and still get mucky.

Yes I do realise that most Stobbart drivers have got their hands and theirselves mucky in the past and I do realise that most of them are fine to talk to and have a good crack with.
How on earth did that M18 M62 M1 detour bloke get on the show, he was a mono tone boring as ■■■■, maybe he was just shy but Jesus, he was about as exciting as a game of chess in an old people’s home.
waynedl:
if I’m doing 50mph on a dual and I’m catching someone, then I’ll take it to the limiter to pass them then drop back down to 50.
Yeah, I do that. Don’t speed in my car or at work, it’s a Hell of a lot less stressful. Didn’t speed when I was salaried, don’t speed now I’m hourly.
JLS driver to SOS posted that the tanker driver knew exactly what he was doing.
In my experience, you have say 25% of the 40mph club who are a bit embarrassed at holding up other traffic and have there ears burning, maybe try and pull over if they can to let other traffic past.
You have 50% that are just staying legal and doing there job so don’t get flustered about it but will let traffic past if they come to a dual.
Then you have 25% who actually enjoy having a massive que of traffic behind them, makes them feel important, I’m at the head of the column as it were and will deliberately impede other traffic overtaking by whacking it up to 56 on a dual, I hate this 25%.
Just my opinion of course.
