BP tanker driver A9s today

This clown today on 1 of Britains worst roads sitting at 40 fair enough on single carriage way causing chaos behind him minute he hits dual carriage way flat out so as no one can pass him then comes to single lane slams anchors on back to 40 causing absolute chaos never once pulled into layby to let traffic past took great delight in ■■■■■■ everyone off & yes I overtook you on s/c because of what was happening behind me hope your proud you absolute disgrace if you want to stick to the speed limit fine no problem but on d/c do the same & let traffic pass you & btw your tattoos are ■■■■■

sounds like your the clown. slow down m8 and take a chill pill.

If you’re paid by the hour, you need to have a good word with yourself.

Can’t stand it when blokes do this, I’m with the OP.

40 on singles fair enough but then to deliberately break the limit to 56 in a 50 so no one can pass?

Total knob.

Your the clown chiva, speed limit on single s/c 40mph speed limit on d/c 50mph that goes for all hgv , the cars and vans have the capacity to accelerate past, the tanker is a full 44 ton all up, , it’s idiots like you who cause accidents through your lack of self control and discipline. I myself am a fuel tanker driver and personally detest nobs like you. You give the haulage industry a bad name :imp:

As do all the other speed merchants on that road! I’m up to Inverness regularly & sit at 72kmh on the singles & 81kmh on the duals (that’s 44mph & 50 mph for those still in old money) & with the exception of the supermarket drivers, every other lorry driver seems to be on some sort of big money bonus that is worth breaking the law for!!

Some of these mugs (see Carntyne transport) can’t even overtake properly! No vehicles coming the other way is an absolute minimum requirement guys, yesterday mornings muppet at Dalwhinnie must have filled his pants!

Get the picture?

+1 I hate time wasters…!!!

You could have easliy swapped the title of this thread to ‘‘Another A9 fatal lorry crash’’ a fuel tanker and i assume going by the username a chivas brothers tanker? Side by side on a s/c is always a good idea

It was bad cricket by the bp driver yes, but it sounds to me like you flipped your lid and where getting past no matter what… even had time to look at his tattoos eh eh eh eh eh

I usually do the speed limit plus 10%.

For the benefit of the mentally impaired; that’s 44mph on the single carriageways and 55mph on the dual carriageways.

I couldn’t give a flying ■■■■ who I annoy by doing this.

are you abused by people on a regular basis ?

Why + 10%■■?

Either speed, or don’t. You’re still breaking the law :unamused:

I don’t speed, last job was salaried and still didn’t speed - as a rule. I’ll admit, if I’m doing 50mph on a dual and I’m catching someone, then I’ll take it to the limiter to pass them then drop back down to 50.

My car is capable of 155mph. Are you suggesting if I’m prepared to do 77mph in it on a motorway, I may as well just do 155mph?

Why do the brain dead think it has to be all or nothing all of the time?

To be fair, I think the point Wayne is making is either speed or don’t. You can’t be a little bit pregnant and neither can you be speeding a little bit. I surmise his point being “why use a 10% margin as if it’s ok to do this but not 20%?”

Personally I don’t care either way. I don’t stick to 40 and if I catch you up well I’m not gonna lose any sleep over it, I’ll just sit behind you until we hit a d/c. If you then do 56 again it’s no problem 'cos you’ll pull away from me, stick to 50 and I’ll pass you.

No dramas neccessary.

Are people deliberately missing the point?

If a guy does 40 on a s/c and has a long tailback behind him, then 56s on the d/c hes obviously trying to cause as much mayhem as possible. Ergo…he`s a knob, as stated.

Two wrongs don`t make a right though and people should show a little patience the world is full of knobs. Slow down and let him have his fun. It dont matter none!

The tanker driver is a being a ■■■■.
But what’s worse is he probably has no idea what he was actually doing.

Missing the point?..here?

Its a bloody miracle if some of them ever get the point.

That would annoy the ■■■■ out of me to be fair  but as long as you didn’t speed up when I overtake on the SC then no probs.
On a different note, I think people take overtaking way to personally as well.

You’ve really let yourself down. Up until this point, I’ve generally found your posts to be well considered and intelligent. However, in this instance I’ll refer you to my previous question -

Contraflow:
Why do the brain dead think it has to be all or nothing all of the time?

Try this:

Pass a police car at 77mph on a motorway. See what happens. Now pass a police car at 155mph on a motorway. Again, see what happens. Report your findings to the group and let us know if you still believe there’s no such thing as “speeding a little bit”.

I’ll stick to the speed limit plus 10% and no amount of ■■■■■■■■ and whining from the “all or nothing brigade” will convince me to do otherwise. Is it a coincidence that a self-confessed habitual speeder like myself has a squeaky clean licence? I don’t think so.

It amazes me so many do gooders are on here I would have also passed him on a the single carriageway, going up the A9 I do 50 all the way, should imagine a lot of you moaning at the op have never even been on the A9,
