BP tanker driver A9s today

FarnboroughBoy11:
That would annoy the [zb] out of me to be fair  but as long as you didn’t speed up when I overtake on the SC then no probs.

Of course I wouldn’t. I’d even flash you back in.

To be fair, I think the point Wayne is making is either speed or don’t. You can’t be a little bit pregnant and neither can you be speeding a little bit…

You’ve really let yourself down. Up until this point, I’ve generally found your posts to be well considered and intelligent. However, in this instance I’ll refer you to my previous question -

I apologise most sincerely if I’ve mislead you in the past. It is never and has never been my intention to appear well considered and intelligent. And as such can only offer my heartfelt promise that I will never appear or attempt to be a grown up in future.

Much obliged, I would give you a little left right left left from my indicators to say thanks but if I was particularly impressed by your flashing technique I might extend it to a left right left right then two quick left ones and two quick right ones and finish on a single left.

How about the ole on and off with the sidelights x2 :bulb:

It amazes me so many do gooders are on here I would have also passed him on a the single carriageway, going up the A9 I do 50 all the way, should imagine a lot of you moaning at the op have never even been on the A9,

Not been on the A9, but done the A75 many times and never sped on that, or the A89, or the A5 - like I said, except if I’m on a dual doing 50mph and catching someone, I’ll increase my speed to pass them then drop back down to 50, this is to prevent a massive queue in the outside lane, it IS speeding, but it’s also the sensible thing to do.

I’ve never got the ā€˜I’m ok to speed by 10% + 2’ idea, that’s a leeway for other things like calibration errors, maybe if you were running down a hill a tad, you might not get stung, but if you’ve took that leeway out, then if something is wrong, you’re done.

I’ve said it before on here, our speeds are monitored & As part of Shell’s " Golden Rules " if we are found to have been speeding on any class of road we will be sacked. Other Hoyer contracts aren’t a stringent unless you have an incident.

If Bp driver did speed up to 55 on dual then yes he is a muppet end of ! For example ; I hate traveling the A605 to Peterborough cus you do get put under pressure but its not worth losing my job for you to get to your delivery 5mins earlier, although when I get to the 2 sections of dual carriageway I’ll flick the indicators to let those behind know its coming up & watch everyone pass me.

All we’re doing is trying to keep our job not pee you all off

waynedl:
Why + 10%ā– ā– ?

Either speed, or don’t. You’re still breaking the law :unamused:

Err guess why 10%…!ā– ā–
ā– ā– ā– ā–  the law!!! :smiling_imp:

 yes I have done that before, but now because I have DRL’s my trailer lights are on all the time, unless its really sunny when I turn them off but this involves holding a button down for 3 seconds and then another 3 seconds to turn them back on… So you see that’s a good 6 seconds where Contraflow could be thinking that I was being rude and in that time he would no doubt be checking his mirrors again therefor missing my show of gratification and it would just be a disaster and a horrible misunderstanding

Silver_Surfer:
Can’t stand it when blokes do this, I’m with the OP.

40 on singles fair enough but then to deliberately break the limit to 56 in a 50 so no one can pass?

Total knob.

Agreed.

Anybody who speeds on any road above the speed limit is a complete and utter knob.

Go on try and change my opinion, bet you can’t…PATHETIC

That includes the knobber in the OP on DC’s.

Too many people worrying/stressing over trivial things, you got home/ to your delivery or parked up for the night safely and you live to fight another day. Chill out lifes too short.

When matrix signs say 20mph and there is a clear motorway ahead that you can see for about 3 miles, do you slow down to 20ā– ā–

Of couse I do, I also don’t go under red cross matrix signs, its the law.

Came off the A419 slip road the other night, it states 20mph, so I slowed down, a driver who followed me and then went pass me once on the M5 was going off his head, WHY ?

NTSA…Who remembers this?

Wow. Just… wow. :unamused:

Thank you, for your response.

I get paid to drive according to the law, thats the way it is

Not sure why your surprised Rob, if ( and god hope you don’t) you come off a single carriage way road doing 56 miles an hour surely the first thing they look at will be you driving record on your card / tacho. How would you explain that.

We are tracked, all the time, do you think they would back me up for speeding on a DC ?

Rooster:
Of couse I do,

Doesn’t common sense prevail?? If it says ā€œfogā€ and there isn’t a cloud in the sky, do you turn your fog lights on?

What kind if motor do you have? I didn’t know that DRLs could be easily turned off, I really hate them, wont even buy a new car because of them…
